Something like the story is that someone made a series of pics of crying babies in the studio like that and why would anyone even think this was a thing to do?

Almost all scientists are liberal. Dont believe in science now?
Climate change is a fact.
3 ups, 6y
Almost all scientists are liberal?... How did you come to that conclusion?
3 ups, 6y,
1 reply
Sure, climate change is a fact. What's up for debate is whether, or how much, humans have had any effect on the climate changing.

I'm pretty sure thats also not up for debate

Yeah, Siberia use to be tropical. Did that change because of man? And don't give me that 97% stat that's been debunked.

No one is contesting climate change is for real.
Change of climate is a geological regularity - there has been multiple climate changes in the history of mankind and aeons before.

Glaciers&Mammoths all over Europe during Ice Age, Greenland being a green land when it was discovered and named by the Vikings, Micro Ice age after a super volcano eruption in the early 1800s emitting more pollution in a week than mankind in it's history, causing a year without summer & famines all over Europe (esp.Ireland) thus fuelling waves of migration to America.
These changes happen gradually; ecosystems and mankind will be adopting to them. Some Glaciers melt away. Some coasts may sink. Select regions in Alaska,Siberia, Greenland and Antarctica will be cultivated or colonialized when they're no longer covered with ice. And when the pendulum eventually swings back in some thousand years the sand deserts in equatorial regions will reflourish.

But that's not the point of my meme.

I'm contesting liberal scientific claims that climate-change is all man-made; it is not. You cannot keep man-made and natural influencing factors apart.
What pisses me off is the instrumenalization of some pseudo-science combined with some law of nature (which climate change is) for political deflection, painting horror szenarios like "AOC green deal or the world will end in 12 years" or narratives like "Liberals want to save the environment" vs. "Conservatives want to destroy the planet"; this is nothing but touting BS political propaganda on a very low level.
Conservatives tend to be safe-guarding their environment in a small scale while Liberals feeling cocky about saving planet Earth by banning plastic straws and fossile fuels.

Yeah. I tend not to believe those generalizations, but humans have part in climate change

It's recorded in trees and ice. This is on the NASA website. I tend not to believe statistics. I'm sure u use much more reliable ways of determining things
0 ups, 6y
well I have faith that the eco-system is a self-regulating system.
A rise of carbon dioxide may affect human population but favors vegetation
In a holistic view humans are just ants - any super-volcano or meteor would have a much bigger impact on our atmosphere.

Standard leftard tactic #2: Pretend your opponent said something that they never actually said. Also known as "twisting their words".

Example: pretending meme said "liberal science" instead of "liberal /scientists/"
1 up, 6y,

Seems like a distinction without a difference. The point is that scientists regardless of their personal political persuasion know that climate change is real. How unfortunate some in the Republican party are climate change denialists causing the general public to choose sides based on tribalism.
1 up, 6y,
1 reply
Right, because of all the people having their careers ruined over having the wrong opinion, only scientists can get away with going against the liberal agenda and don't have to be afraid if they don't toe the political line...

I mean c'mon, haven't you heard? "Science is a construct of the white male patriarchy".

The test of good science is reproducible results by your peers. Good science has no agenda. There are political agendas and differences of opinions in what we should with the information. If you don't want to do anything about the information that could explain why you would question it's veracity.
2 ups, 6y,
1 reply
Science SHOULD have no agenda, but there are examples of scientist being retaliated against by the institutions they work for when they present findings that challenge the current "accepted facts".
Even amongst the "97%" of scientist who agree that climate change is a fact (many of those scientists fields of study have nothing to do with climate, by the way. So the fact they claim to have a clear oppinion on climate change at all is clearly political or social, rather than scientific) there is a disagreement as to the speed of warming, the degree of human influence on the phenomenon (it appears it may be part of the planets natural long term cycle), and whether or not changing human behavior could actually stop it. Many "optimistic" evaluations say that if we reduced emissions to pre-industrial levels (an unrealistic expectations which in order to achieve would have imediate ramifications on lifestyle, economy, and food supplies which most would not tolerate) would only delay global warming by less than 100 years. When you take in current life expectancy, that is nothing as far as the big picture is concerned.
Despite what makes us feel good, famine and extinction events are natural, and almost always unavoidable.
0 ups, 6y
I don't agree with everything you say, but you are very honest when you say something like, reducing emissions to pre-industrial levels is unrealistic, and not something most of us would tolerate."

You've completely avoided the point of the conversation, and turned it into a whole different point, and you have the audacity to question MY debate integrity?

Of course, I don't know what else I would expect from a "liberal". You people argue like women, pulling shit out of thin air when you're losing, to obfuscate the discussion at hand and try to turn it around in your favor.
1 up, 6y
I should just give up, but first of all I wasn't questioning YOUR debate integrity, I was trying to make a point about Republicans. 2nd of all, tell me then, I honestly don't get you, what is the point you are trying to make then?

apotemnophilia is when you think a part of your body is not yours. it is a mental disorder. people have it since they are very young. they just know its not part of their body. they go to surgeons, and say to cut it off. they shoot the body part with a shotgun. its just not theirs. they are adamant. Its sad, because its something wrong with their mind. thats a mental disorder. when you think your leg isnt yours, its a mental disorder, but when you think your body isnt yours, it isnt????

Proof that it's all just a result of this so-called "apotemnophilia"?
0 ups, 6y,

Its not. Its a different mental disorder. Gender dysphoria, transgenderism, is a mental condition, and if it causes impairment of functioning, its a mental disorder.

Yeah, because that is exactly what makes people want to be Trans. Yes sir. They are all sick! Lets put them out of their Misery! Honestly mate.

No one said we need to put them out of their misery... like you would support doing to an unborn child. We are just stating the scientific fact which was proven above that indeed is a mental disorder. And your opinion is just that, an opinion which is not backed up by facts. You are entitled to your opinion. Have a wonderful day.

"No one said we need to put them out of their misery"

I've got this thing. Its called Sarcasm. Ever heard of it? Its really great.

"like you would support doing to an unborn child"

A yes, the 'murder' of unborn children. I am not in the mood that discussion.

"We are just stating the scientific fact"

You are, thats true, but your providing it to the wrong discussion. The disease you have provided is rather intresting, it is the belief that something in your body doesn't beling there and you try to remove it. Now that part doesn't have to be your dick, it can be anything really as far as I can see, but thats not important. The thing is, I highly doubt that that is even a major reason for Trans people. You given us a Disease and suggested it have something to do with trans people, but you didn't back that up.

" your opinion is just that,"

Huh, I didn't even realise that Sarcasm can be an opinion. Do pray tell, WHAT IS my opinion? And since I myself don't even know of it, I can hardly back it, hmm?

"You are entitled to your opinion"

Um? Thank you? I guess? This I don't get.

Well, you said "you are not in the mood for discussion", I just cut it short bringing the same amount of value to the topic in one sentence as you did in 22 sentences from your previous post. Cheers!
0 ups, 6y
Ha! Nice one. But I think you and I both know I was referring to the topic of Abortion when stating that I am not in the mood for that disscusion. Don't even pretend to otherwise. It's frankly just insulting, to both me and you. Either way, do tell: How has your one sentence micking me brought about as much value to this 'conversation' than me pointing out the falw in your 'Theory'?

pretty simple, yours had no value neither did mine, to most people that is common sense.

Ah... Very well? If you admit that your Comment, which I honestly forgot and am too lazy to scroll up, is without value then so is mine responding to said comment. No value. I don't get where this conversation is heading. Do you?
