Yeah, probably.

But it takes a collection of representatives of "the people" for a law to get passed. So it is clear they do not understand certain aspects of the laws already in place and have no problem showing their ignorance or their hypocrisy (which ever applies).

Because representatives didn't determine this law. Judges did. They determine law on a case by case basis that occasionally set precedents. The reason why there is no hypocrisy to be found here is intent. For a person who intended harm, did harm and kill a person, it's murder. If that person was pregnant, then the murderer may have had intent to kill the unborn.

If a mother chooses to not go forward with her pregnancy, aborts the fetus at an appropriate time and through legal measures, then it is not murder.

Some may argue differently and I respect that. However, I do not respect other people who assign moral authority based on their personal beliefs with the intent to affect the lives of others without any regard to the consequences these laws might inflict on them.

And that makes it better? We have a law that is in essence on the books without ever being voted upon by our representatives. That isn't how our nation is supposed to work. The judicial branch does NOT do the job of the legislative branch.

So You are referring to "case law" or previous rulings that assist in the interpretation and adjudication of established statutes and enforceability of those statutes.
But all views, opinions, beliefs, etc is what plays into laqs being made, interpreted, passed, or removed. So someome somewhere is not going to be respected for having that opinion based on the premise of you statement.
