Well I agree with you that the government tends to have long arms and sticky fingers. My distaste for the government is spoken of in hushed whispers.
So, I'll give you the thing about the parking ticket. But if I get a parking ticket I have a car, and I'm obviously putting gas in that car somehow. Legal or not it would get me to the city court, most of which usually offer payment plans for tickets. Of course this is just one scenario but I do see where you're coming from.
So should non-residents be allowed to vote in our elections? If so, why wouldn't Vladimir Putin just cast his vote and require Every Russian to do the same? Can we go to Mexico and vote in their electronics? How about France, or Great Britain? If not, why?
Because they require you to be a citizen before you're allowed to vote. So how would we verify that someone is actually a citizen without asking them for ID?
Do you see where I'm going with this? I'm asking you to explain an alternative to voter ID.
