A cop pulls you over because another driver was speeding through a school zone. He has no license and no insurance, but you do and you own a small business. The cop tells you that even though you did nothing wrong you have more money, so you have to pay half of the other driver's fine or face jail time.

This is socialism.

Socialism: You have two cows. Government takes them both and gives the milk to government's nephews. If you object, you are sent to a gulag.

And the cop was a motorcycle cycle cop and also find the driver for no seat belt. The man objected so the cop called in back up they beat the shit out of him arrested him and he died in his cell from deyatration

That's not socialism. People pay their own tickets for speeding. They just happen to make livable wages, receive healthcare and education (among other social benefits) from tax money the entire society pays into equitably.

I posted it in a joking manner, but socialism is basically a form of forced profit sharing. Those who make more are forced to give up part of their earnings for those who make less. If you make $100,000 per year and I make $10k you would be forced to give up some of the money that you earned so that I can make a living wage. Therefore, I would not be encouraged to learn a new skill or get educated to raise my standard of living, aI can just depend on you to make up the difference.

We just barely make it into the top 20. The rest are "socialist" by any traditional definition. We should be #1....but we are 19.

As a Dane (#3), I can assure you Denmark is not a "socialist" country. In a socialist society, the state owns the means of production and everybody works according to their ability and receives according to their need; that is not the case in Denmark. Nor is it in any of the countries on your list.

That's why I used quotes around "socialist" b/c in the USA those countries (Social Democracies) are labeled "socialist" by the conservative faction like it's a bad thing.

Then Americans on both sides should learn the difference between Socialism and a Social Democracy, and they should learn the difference between News and Fox News.

They won't, because that won't let it serve its use for right wing propaganda.

There have never been any true Communist countries, they all ended up more Socialist or eventually Capitalist. Because of that, using te word Communism to demonize opposition in America lost its power as an insult. So now the term Socialist has taken its place as the go to way to besmirch left leaning folks.

The irony is that those that complain about it tend to be the less educated and poorer benefits recipients from States more dependent on Federal aid to support their non-productive economies. That's Fox's demographic and Trump's base.
