It was STRONGER than the Canadian dollar. Now, after 27 years of poor governance, corruption, misguided Marxist African National Congress (ANC) economic policies, and by allowing an additional 10 million people to pour into the country, the rand is only worth 8 cents to the Canadian dollar on a "good day".
