I lost 104 pounds in 2012 in order to get pregnant. I guess it worked ;-) I have two little ones under 2 now. Hard work and eating right pays off! Good job!

My mom was slightly overweight and lost 15 pounds in a month with a really simple method if you're interested. It works well and doesn't require any pills or stupid shit like that.

500 Calorie diet. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, count your calories and consume no more than 500 calories. The most effective way to do this is stock up on Diet soda that has no calories and drink that during the day after a small breakfast, and have something big that adds up to 500 for dinner. On Tuesdays and Thursdays you can eat normally but still be cautious to not go over a regular 2,000 calorie diet. Do that for 1+ months and you can lose quite a bit of weight.

Um, I'm not sure that's healthy... your body needs an absolute minimum of ~800 calories per day just to function. That sounds more like an anorexic diet.

I'd just suggest a strict regimen of exercise, such as jogging 2-4 miles a day, coupled with staying away from sugary and fatty foods and eating plenty of veggies, eggs and drinking lots of water.

That's not anorexic. It's a healthy diet; it's enough calories that your body needs to take fat to function but won't take muscle to function in place of fat. Anorexia is when you don't have enough fat to supply your body so it starts taking your muscle...

Well (maybe I'm wrong here, and if I am, sorry), in my opinion, it's not so much the number of calories you consume than it is about WHAT you consume. I mean, I'm barely topping 100 lbs, but I don't consider myself healthy--most of what I eat is loaded with sugar. I'm not necessarily saying your mom's diet idea was 3/4 sugar--and hey, if she lost some weight, more power to her!--but I'm saying that most of the time, what you eat is more important than how much you eat.
Basically, you could be healthier with a 2,500 cal. diet of fresh fruits and vegetables than on a 1,500 cal. diet of junk food.

That makes sense. I see where you're coming from, and you're right, most of it has to do with the types of food you're eating. If you did the diet I'm suggesting but you eat nothing but Cheetos and Twinkies in the process you're not going anywhere, and it's not good for your health. But if you do it correctly it could have benefits.
(btw it's nice to talk to someone on here without getting flamed at for once)

you're talking about Macros vs Micros, and they ultimately come out to the same thing. I went from 210 to 180 just keeping my overall calorie count down to about 1200-1300. When i hit 180, I hovered around 2k a day. It works that way. Healthier food tends to have lower calorie count, so you can eat more. Where as a big mac combo has close to 2k calories, so that is all you are allowed. Healthy food is better, but if you burn all of your calories in one sitting, and ACTUALLY stick to the count, you will still lose weight

Congrats...I lost 50 lbs. 5 years ago and kept it off. Running over 30 miles a week now. It's easy when you make it a lifestyle.
