I think he's more upset that certain religious groups feel that our laws do not apply to them, even though the Constitution doesn't make exceptions of that nature. That can apply to any religious groups, like the Amish who try to lean on "straw hat" laws or Muslims that think targeting women for various crimes is or Nutso Christians that ensure to not spare the rod or silence the wife.

The real question is why did you assume Muslim?

the US Courts have long had a 'hands off' approach to religious laws for communities. As long as the established rules/contracts/laws don't contradict the Constitution, the courts have let it go.

I'll be honest with you- it depends on teh country, but mostly my mind goes to how that specific country exists because Great Britain and France carved it up post-WW1 and then how we, the United States, systematically support those dictators installed by the British so we could keep the region at war with itself and we'd have cheap oil.
