Not only is it weak disabling comments, it is typical leftist ideology, "Only my opinion matters, because I am correct on the issue, there will be no debate, only agreement".

Leftists get in circle jerks of agreement with each other "Yes, I agree. Oh, wholeheartedly I agree also. Yes yes, you are SO correct!!".

But DISAGREE with them? That just wont do. To them a negative comment or disagreement is like leaving a flaming pile of dog poo on thier porch and so they just disable the ability to let it happen.

There is no hate like leftist love and no exclusion like leftist inclusion.

They run around and accuse the right of being Nazis but they're the ones that act and quack like that particular duck "agree with me or else!!"

It's so easy to see right through that total cop out. If you had the truth on your side and you knew it you wouldn't be afraid to disable comments. Responding to comments isn't even required, you could just ignore them.
