Imagery. Not image. Imagery. As in your visualization. Of the United States. Not the picture of a license plate, your visualization.
Your homespun anecdotes reminds me of Walking Tall, the forgotten TV series. For some strange reason they relocated the story to New York, I don't know why, because about the tallest building in the show was two stories, maybe three, and the greenery far outnumbered the concrete and bricks.
But what was even faker still was Sheriff Buford Pusser's delivery. Like he would over-describe locations. Instead of "We got a shooting at 59th and 8th," he would say "59th Street and 8th Avenue between blah blah blah right near blah blah" ... A lot of excessive detail that nobody here or anywhere else would talk like. So while trying to make it sound like he was actually here, the end result was very much the opposite.
That's how you describe things. Plus really out of date. I don't know what the deal is with what neighborhood you live in, but your conception of everything tends towards exceedingly anachronistic. Except in cases like Newsom and Mamdani, which you're exposed to from memes here.
Yes, you've told me how fabulous it is. You've also told me that you can't afford your own home that you already paid for from the way fabulous job you've had, and therefore, courtesy of Capitalism, looks like you're going to have to exchange that for a humbler abode in Alabama, is what you told me a few weeks ago. But don't feel bad, as the state motto of Alabama goes, "Well, at least we're not Arkansas"
