I don't think most abortions are feasible at that stage. Your baby would have to be dead before they could take it out. Inducing would be horrible. C-sections... well they leave a huge scar.

• 0-13 weeks: medication abortion. A combination of two pills causes a miscarriage
• 5-13 weeks: vacuum aspiration. The baby is dismembered to death and sucked out with tube. Aka dilation and curettage or suction aspiration
• 14-27 weeks: dilation and evacuation. Similar to vacuum aspiration but requires more hardware
• 28+ weeks: dilation and extraction. The baby is dismembered to death with forceps
• Partial birth abortion. Everything but the head is delivered and an alleged medical professional snips the baby's spinal cord at the neck, causing a functional decapitation
• After birth abortion. The baby is delivered and left to die on the table

I don't think they exist. When I got my abortion, there were two option. Pill or a vacuum. But I'm happy to be proven wrong. If you give me the information, I'll try to get an abortion at 20 weeks. (No worries I plan to actually not follow through and I WILL carry to term)

A lot of pro-lifers became pro-life after getting an abortion, seeing that it was a baby they killed (not just a "clump of cells"), and then naturally deeply regretting it. Other times, people are lied to or confused. Doctors are happy to dehumanize babies with their language if that's what the woman wants, and some abortion techniques are also used to remove the bodies of babies who die naturally, so people think they are getting an abortion when they really aren't.

Most abortions are by pill, but that doesn't mean there aren't techniques for every stage. All the information I gave you is freely available online with a quick Google search. And not just from pro-life sources, but pro-abortion sources as well

Almost every married mom has either had at least one abortion, or they usually have six kids. I personally can only take care of two and after my first child, I got pregnant with twins. I also have moral objections with private adoption.

I'm hoping my doctor will be willing to sterilize me after my second child. I actually have an appointment to talk about it.

But I also support your moral decision to not get an abortion if you were in my shoes. It's a valid moral stance in what effectively is a lose lose situation.

The truth is, humanity and life is too nuanced to have an objective moral stance on everything. We have to decide communally what's the best for everyone. That usually involves a sacrifice of something.

I can't imagine an ethical quandary where the best answer is to brutally murder an innocent baby. I understand being an overtired mom (my wife and a I have 3 under 7), but every married woman I know uses birth control instead of making babies and murdering them. And one of ours we adopted from a family that already had 6 kids. I'm so grateful that her birth mother didn't think killing her would be better for her than to make an adoption plan.

Yeah. That's fair. I just know too much about statistics and childcare. For me, I'd rather I bear the brunt of a moral sin than cause another person trauma.

Technically the scientific cut off is 4 kids, but I'm also disabled. I'm not physically able to do work for two kids at a time.

I'm also adopted myself, and no matter what, it causes trauma to the child. I couldn't let another person do that to someone I love.

And I'm also split up from my siblings. Not something I'd ever let happen to my children.

But I understand being against mercy killings. I just personally can't stomach my loved ones in pain.

Those all sound like you have to get induced except for the... Is that what you're calling a D&C? I've had one before, it's just a vacuum. Nothing goes past the cervix. They actually can't get a cervix open without inducing generally.

Sorry for your loss. I don't think you have to be induced for any of them except maybe partial birth abortion and post-birth abortion, we you don't always need to be induced for since, left to itself, babies will naturally be born wothout induction in most cases. With the others, you aren't giving birth, you're having your child ripped out of you.

I'm not sure what you mean. Aside from the pill and the "abandon the baby to die" techniques, this is how the medical professionals will refer to the procedure

I asked for a referral. There's like only one clinic in the area where I live and they only do two procedures. They ask for $500 up front and they do a transva**nal ultrasound. Then they recommend the pill or the D&C. And they use a non-serrated tube.

As a liberal, to be honest, I had a moral quandary about it. Then I realized I didn't actually have any moral objections, I just didn't want other liberals to think I wasn't cool. And also, I wanted to plan for my birth effectively because I'm anti-genital mutilation and sometimes based on the gender they do that without asking.
