true , but if you look at the policies side by side, conservatives have moral high ground, Americans best interests at heart, love for country that we live in, and most of all common sense. The plot twist for conservatives is , they are actually in the right.

Before we start: I have a liberal view and you have a conservative view. I genuinely want to have a respectful and meaningful conversation about this.

Can I have some examples of morality, American interest, patriotism, and common sense?

Of course, Morality - the western family core, Mother Father and children, faith based, individuals, yet willing to help their neighbors, The values that Made America the greatest and most powerful nation on earth.

American interest - safety - Constitutional rights protected, ensured, and exercised by everyone of us free from limitation, freedom of expression and religion plus the 2nd which all other rights lean on. The ability to work hard and get educated , created a good life through dedication and effort, without being punished through over taxation, the list goes on and on.

Patriotism - Love for our military, our borders which are doors to our home, and those of us willing to give everything to ensure our country remains free. Ask any vet about patriotisms.

Common sense is simply everything I already said. Secure borders, health care for Americans, not the entire world, strong military , freedoms within the constitution guaranteed, knowing some diversity is good , but forced diversity destroys nations.

Its simple because common sense is usually simple. imo. Have I listed anything here and seems negative towards anyone or anything? To me , I don't think so.

Morality- Yes I agree we should help our neighbors and I do think we should be grateful for this country. But I don't see how straight families are any more moral than homosexual marriages. I don't think sexuality has anything to do with morality. I also disagree with faith. I believe you can be moral without a religion.

American Interest- Yes, I think we should be able to voice our opinions legally. I don't think there's a problem unless you're threatening someone. Hate speech. I don't think hate speech should be banned by the government, but I do think "cancel culture" can be good. It isn't always good but I think it's okay when used against hateful people. Cancel culture is also free speech. Expression. I think people should be able to express themselves however they want and people should be able to call them out if they want. I think working is great. I might be biased on taxation since I'm not old enough to pay taxes yet so I'll leave it alone for now

Patriotism- The military 100% deserves respect although some conservatives make fun of Tim Walz who served 24 years in the military. Even if he wasn't deserving of the rank or whatever, he still spent 24 years in the military. Also, I believe homosexuality is okay in the military. Obviously, soldiers shouldn't be having sex on the battlefield but anyone should be allowed to join.

Common sense- Healthcare needs improvements. A strong military is good but how much do we really need? I think diversity is good. I think if diversity is destroying a nation, there is something wrong with the nation in the first place.

As for the same sex parents thing, it seems to me that in nature if it wasn't meant to be then we shouldn't force it. Two men can not have children naturally, it is not normal for gay men to have a baby, that family is nothing but a social construct that we force a child into. I am speaking as a father of 3 my self , growing up everyone I knew was from a traditional household expect a few single parent homes where the father or mother passed away or was jailed, and honestly , the single parent homes produced some of the worst people I know. So who knows what we are going to see in the next 50 years.

I don't think same-sex marriage is being forced. It's more of an acceptance of it. I believe sexuality cannot be changed so we shouldn't try to make homosexuals hetero or heterosexuals homo. Yes, two men cannot naturally have a child, but homosexuality has been seen in nature in several animals for the sake of companionship. I think two same-sex parents are equal to a traditional family and better than no parents. I guess I would agree it's not "normal" to have gay parents, but I also don't see any issues with it either.

I really wasn't implying that gay couples are forced, I was trying to say that adding a child to the mix is forced by society. Even if homosexuality is documented in nature, two males, do not have and can not have offspring. I also wanted to add, in the next 40 - 50 years we will see the results of same sex households , it is too early to see any disadvantages or advantages to that environment.

There is a reason diversity destroys nations - as through out history proves. When you have too many different people with no connection to each other, you develop a system of tribalism, special interest groups all pulling in their own direction and not working together for the betterment of one nation. special interest groups always pull in their own directions, People always congregate with their own kind, black people perfer to live around other blacks, Hispanics prefer to live around hispanics, Asian with Asian and yes White people perfer to live around whites, in general. we adhere to people with similar cultural backgrounds, its human nature. That is why a country has to be homogenous to truly survive long term.

As for hate speech, you have to understand that our first amendment protects the speech you hate the most, that is what it is defined and created to do, everyone has the right to think and feel how they want and to express their self accordingly without physically harming or calling to harm anyone else. Hate speech is a slippery slope , it is on the verge of thought policing society. You can't simply protect speech you agree with, you have to hear other points of view even if it is vile to you, its how we as human beings grow and learn and adapt.

Diversity- Do you think the civil rights movement was a good or bad thing?

Hate Speech- I said I agree with hate speech;

"Yes, I think we should be able to voice our opinions legally. I don't think there's a problem unless you're threatening someone. Hate speech. I don't think hate speech should be banned by the government, but I do think "cancel culture" can be good. It isn't always good but I think it's okay when used against hateful people. Cancel culture is also free speech."

What about bullying? I personally would try my best to ignore it but some people kill themselves over it. Do you think actions should be taken for things like that? (Not necessarily the government, but schools or communities)

Civil rights was incredibly important, all Americans of every race and creed should be protected under the US constitution. All men are created equal, it is only by our actions should we be judged.

bullying..hmm..

Its really simple to avoid online bullying for one, turn off the computer, or go to a different social site. Also blocks work wonders.

As for bullying in person , that is something that parents need to address with other parents, and that is part of the real world , if kids kill their self over someone calling them names , how would they ever have made it in a work environment. Or dealt with a health issue of a loved one? People need to raise their kids stronger, that is another reason I believe in conservative households, sensitivity wasn't part of growing up in my home.

Overall, I think I would agree but I think sensitivity can also be a good thing. My parents are very conservative and there wasn't much attention to mental health and it was kind of a "get over it" thing.

What would you say is an ideal mix of sensitivity and insensitivity? I think a 50/50 is good for most things, and maybe a 30/70 for school or other places where conflict might occur.

Also, are people taught to be sensitive or are they just more sensitive by nature?
1 up, 2mo
Sensitivity can be fazed out through desensitization, if someone is sensitive to blood , watch super gory movies until you aren't bothered by it anymore. Sensitivity is weakness to something in most cases, however being say, sensitive to a loved ones feelings is very important. So I guess 50/50 is a fair number , though difficult to adhere to because it is really according to whom it is directed at, I don't think anyone should have sensitivity towards people that are unknown to them, like me and you, if you called me names , it really shouldn't matter to me because we don't know each other, if my wife calls me a name , it would bother me because I love her.

Yea of course some people are more sensitive by nature, and those people should attempt to desensitize their self because in all actuality the world is a cruel place and sensitive people are not going to feel comfortable - it is not up to the world to pander to those people either.

The two oldest countries in the world, China and Iran, have been diverse ethnically and racially since before they became countries. Same goes for Rome, Egypt, Mesopotamia... In more recent times, Britain and the USA. If England remained as England, it would never have become Britain, let alone the United Kingdom and the British Empire. It wasn't despite the confluence of different cultures that made Spain into the empire it became, but because of it.

Nope, "conservatives" created bill of rights including free speech precisely because they are tolerant

Remind me...which party attempted to overthrow the election in 2020 by storming the capital building during the vote certification?

Which party constantly shows up to any protest carrying guns?

Which party fantasizes about a 2nd Civil War?

It's the Republicans. Every. Single. Time.

Remind me - which political party leader blatantly refused 20,000 national guard troops to keep an on 1/6. Which political party used plants to stir up trouble. Which party still doesn't get the purpose of the 2nd Amendment. Which party keep enacting violence with celebrating the assassination of that CEO and now a feminist shooting up a school being the latest examples. Which party can't get it through their thick skulls that they'd be the ones to instigate another Civil War and that'd there be no mercy for the losing side the next time around.

It's the Democrats. Every. Single. Time.

Which party lost 350 ,000 kids that they were supposed to be protecting?

Which party is trying to actively sabatoge an incoming, duely elected, administration by throwing gas ona war and selling materials off that Americans paid for?

Which party allowed millions of illegal criminals to murder, rape, and harm American citizens while protecting said illegals from deportation?

The only reason there would be a civil war is because we have a group of people in America called "leftists" that are trying to destroy it.

And yea, I am looking forward to the day the left starts a war so the right and end it once and for all. But watching the left get curb stomped in this last election is good enough for me.
