Don't know about the media, but I'll bet he didn't mind because when you ACTUALLY achieve something, you don't need validation, and "praise".

I think he is just a humble person, some people love being in the spot light like Trump, he loves being recognized for his incredible achievements. The worst thing is someone that demands praise yet has done nothing to deserve it, ie Jill Biden.
