I am white and I am privileged.

Privileged that my Grand father, a Scott, immigrated to this great country. A quarryman and stone cutter, his workmanship can be seen anonymously all over New York city. His cracked and bleeding hands cut much of the stone in those skyscrapers.
My father, born at the turn of the 20th century, graduated the 6th grade in 1916, worked in a sweatshop for years, worked from town to town during the depression. After the army, drafted at 39, he became an electrician and worked at that until 67.
My mom, a child during the depression, worked as a seamstress fron age 8.
Privileged to have been given a laborer job at $3.50 an hour, that turned into a career in carpentry. @68 I am privileged to be able to work every day and provide for my wife of 42 years.

They repudiate everything King fought for. They seek division and hatred. They don’t want to stop racism, they want to redirect it.

Most current democrats refute MLK’s struggle for equality in place of equity, meaning race preference or racism.

In that time a white moderate was a liberal. Not a commie like now but a true liberal.

I refer to the fact that liberals were often moderates in those times. I believe the current usage of the word liberal is corrupted and Ill defined, as a true liberal is a vehement supporter of free speech and equality. I am more a liberal than most who claim they are now. Bill Maher excepted.

There are no more moderates. Why? Not sure. But I do know the american communist is the most dangerous communist.

I don’t agree with your definition of a liberal. It’s very narrow. A liberal doesn’t want the government to regulate speech and the Old republicans never wanted anything from the government? Except favorable subsidies and tax breaks and the like right? Trickle down economics provided incentive for the haves but they didn’t want it of course.

Liberalism has nothing to do with leftwing or rightwing ideology otherwise we’d refer to the parties by Federalists and Anti-Federalists. But neither Democrats or Republicans are Anti-Federalist. In fact, they’re both pro-Federalism but they disagree on what should and shouldn’t be regulated.

Liberals love regulation, rightwing or leftwing.

Old Republicans were not liberals, that is correct, but they also stood for a unified Federal government. While today’s Republicans play up their anti-federal aspect, they still utilize national control through the party. A Republican wins a state by advocating social regulation? Several Republicans run on the same issue in each state. Enough states adopt the social regulation and the party takes the federal house and congress? They make the popular state regulation law.

This is how Democrats operated for a long time.

This is now how Republicans push liberal legislation through.

The haves, as you call them, always demand more tax breaks. That is still a demand from the government. Utilizing higher than normal tax breaks with the promise they will keep the economy stable by paying their workers the excess of their profits to them has never worked as the businesses only keep the excess profits and often spend them on riskier and riskier investments until, inevitably, they collapse and need a handout from the government to save them despite the argument that if government allowed them to not pay, they would thrive. And perhaps they do! For a time. But if the communities of those large businesses are underpaid then they reduce their spending solely on necessities that are unlikely to be inline with the risky investments… that ultimately causes commercial spending to go down and the big business to collapse and ask for a handout.

So how exactly is this not liberalism? Liberalism disguised as conservatism is the best way for liberalism to thrive.

And why it’s our country’s greatest threat.

We need regulation to set a standard but when that standard solely benefits the few, or the minority, that’s when it will eventually resort in an economic collapse. Regulation that is a standard for the majority, curtailing the rich minority, encourages an economic boon.

The manipulation of US politicians by corporate and foreign interests has become blatant and open. This shows the contempt they hold the people in. Non Rino republicans aren’t anti government in general. They are specifically anti this administrations’ departments being weaponized against their political opposition. This is not the norm for our history in the extent it is being practiced by the left. It is the true threat to this country. Trying to seize control of the Supreme Court “by any means necessary” because they can’t control it is just one of the examples of this.

lib·er·al
/ˈlib(ə)rəl/

1.
willing to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one's own; open to new ideas.
2.
relating to or denoting a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise.

This is the opposite of what most who call themselves liberals believe.

By that strict definition, then no one is a liberal.

Which I objectively agree.

Truly no one is really all liberal or conservative. If we were, then we’d be automatons or two-dimensional unthinking characters in a book.

Human beings are a bit more complicated than that.

Whatever you call any group of political people, I maintain my observation that MAGA Republicans use government as a tool to enforce their ideologies.

That’s not conservatism.

Finally you admit what you want, yet you call others fascists.

Perspective? You mean opinion that is often based on false beliefs drilled in by the indoctrinated of victimhood narrative. I know plenty of successful minorities. Their success rarely had to do with affirmative action or lowered standards. It had to do with hard work and other traditional values. The divisive race baiting avoids the “root causes” and seeks only to divide the population and put them against each other. This is a classic Marxist tactic propagated by the left to villainize whites and denounce their history. The same anti American slogans you spout are present in anti west propaganda spouted by communists for decades.

I read it and it appears you and others here would love to do exactly that. Making proclamations like “you can’t be a good person if you vote for Trump” or disagree or vote a certain way. Applauding censorship, and threats of physical violence to those you disagree with, all point to what you desire.

Neither can you change reality, despite a concerted effort to do so. I don’t need your permission to believe or speak what I wish as you do not seek or need mine. These are concepts enshrined in the US Constitution by intelligent perceptive Patriots who fought for and gained their freedom from the hive mind authoritarians you support now.

The political attacks and insults are not conducive to a true discussion or understanding. It is normal to put up your guard when someone attacks you. Most here are not looking for debate they are looking to troll and insult. I can do that too. I respond in kind with prose or boxing gloves whichever is preferred.
1 up, 12mo
You must be a white democrat.
1 up, 12mo
Lol, never claimed I hadn’t. Note I said I respond in kind. The leftist norm is to screech Trumper or one of a dozen tired insults at anyone who doesn’t agree. Don’t expect respect when you don’t give it.
