It's the natural result of "normalizing" people with psychological problems rather than treating as a disease like physical disease. Plus, big pharma pushes people to take psycho-affecting drugs with a common side-effect of having thoughts of killing people. 100% of mass shooters have been on psycho-affecting drugs due to mental illness.

Mental health issues and poverty go hand in hand.

Which means most mentally ill people will need assistance being able to afford the healthcare.

And most of their families won't be able to afford it for them.

So...

This would require universal healthcare.

Which is a socialism.

And I've been told is a non-starter for conservatives.

They'd rather have dead kids and keep their guns than mental health, alive kids, and socialism.
