I have a serious question. Do you know what "context" is?
Because if you had actually READ that chapter, you would see that Jesus was addressing his disciples, and, yeah, in those days, pretty much everyone DID hate Christians. St. Peter was crucified (upside down at his request), James was stoned, and every one of the original 12 (save for John) met a violent end. Emperor Nero made human candles out of Christians, and often they were sent to be mauled in the Coliseum. Suffice to say, Jesus was right. Maybe nowadays there isn't AS MUCH persecution (there is still a lot though), but in those days he would be correct in saying that they would be "hated by all because of my name."
