The problem I have with that, is the assertion is that "the love of money" is somehow evil, when that's simply not true. For example, the street vendor and the mugger both have a love for money, but not everyone is going to stoop to the level of a mugger/criminal because of "the love money".

The point is better stated elsewhere in the Bible You can not serve God and mammon (Money) you will love one and hate the other. There is nothing wrong with profit or capitalism, but capitalism only works when people have a moral code that does not put profit above people. Perfect example the covid Plandemic and big pharma killing and maiming millions for billions in profit.

That's crony capitalism, and so is not true free market capitalism using the rule-of-law. One does not have to believe in your God to be moral. I know pagans and atheists that are very moral. The root of money is gold, silver and other rare jewels and gems. Only the government and its federal reserve monopolized money, and now we have to deal with inflation and the devaluing of the dollar, since we no longer go by the gold standard. So now we create paper money out of thin air.

The problem with money is not if it is back by gold/silver or any other commodities or not, it is one of morals and government. All currency is ultimately backed by labor and production. When a society stops relying on God they turn to government for dependency. This dependency reduces production and increases spending/debt and money supply. When money supply increases faster then production prices increase and the relative value of money decreases. It is not coincidental that the United States was forced off of the gold standard at the hieght of the sexual revolution and at the begining of the legalization of abortion.

I think what you say is partly rubbish. Money should be backed by gold as it use to be, that way the government can't steal our money. Also, I'm for the sexual revolution, and yet I'm against abortion. It is the government that's screwing us over, and a lack of free markets, not a lack of morals or labor. What do you think causes inflation, if not the over inflating of paper money which devalues currency.

Las Vegas is the suicide capital for people visiting from out of town (for reasons you mentioned), Seattle is the suicide capital for people who live there

I was referring to the state of Nevada, which in that case means we're both wrong.
It currently ranks #11 from the top, down from #10 on the list of states with the higest suicide rates. Washington ranks #21.
However, Las Vegas still is #1 for suicide rates.
