Republicans are so cute when they think the founding fathers knew about surface-to-air missiles and nuclear warheads

The founding fathers meant for the people to retain the power. That if their representatives ever forgot that’s what they were, they would find a populace that refused to be governed and had the means to defend themselves. We are not a people governed by our betters or those who believe they are our masters. Our representatives serve at the pleasure of the people, and their willingness to be governed by fair and just representatives. Leftists serve a master. Americans have no master.

The Founding Fathers couldn't afford a standing army. Heck, they couldn't even afford to mint money, Martha Washington having to donate family silverware for the melting... so the story goes. The Mexican peso was legal tender in the US till 1857 for a reason, after all.

So they came up with the Second Amendment, which gave civilians the right to.... get conscripted! For free! And they had to supply their own arms and ammo!

The Founding Fathers only reluctantly granted the peasant class the right to vote, and initially it was only to monied Protestant British/Teutonic males landowners. They did this out of necessity, mainly, the neu aristocratic class had fears that the same battle-trained potential draftees might turn on them, and there weren't an Atlantic buffer between them. They worried commoners were too stupid and ignorant to vote wisely, and the aspect of them selecting a populist or despot gave them cause to come up with the Electoral College to remedy their potential for idiocy.

And it worked until idiots called Democrats can’t win and want it changed

Only rich male Protestant landowners voting worked?

"Leftists serve a master"

Some do, some don't. Same with conservatives

No all leftists serve a master and only support diversity in genders not ideas.

It didn't matter!
They wanted the lower classes to be armed so they can use the Founders as target practice should they get miffed!

If you can afford a SAM system, then you can own a SAM system. Or do you believe no one privately owned a cannon? You could and still can do some damage with a cannon.

A cannon and a missile are two different things. I don't think the average citizen should be trusted with missiles that can take down an airplane

I agree. I don't think the common person is trust worthy with a potato gun. Do my feelings mean anything to the constitution? No.

When it comes to what weapons private citizens should be allowed to own, do you draw the line anywhere?

I am more gun and constitution than you will EVER be.

1 Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition.

There are blatantly unconstitional laws that violate at least 4 of these. And as long as right wingers agree with them they don't them being violated. And right wingers also believe in resticting non christian religious activity

2 Right to keep and bear arms in order to maintain a well regulated militia.

There are laws that violate this Amendment as well and again as long as you agree then it's no big deal the government violates them

ALL GUN LAWS ARE ILLEGAL!! Even laws that restrict felony possession

4 Freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures.

Cops violate this Amendment every f**king day nationwide and once again as long as it's not you you don't care

Anyway I could go on and on by my point is simple. You subjectively choose when it's ok to violate the constitution. Just like all the other fakew patriots.

Btw for every "right" you think you have your local, state and the federal government have created "laws" that allow cops to shit all over the constitution. And you only care when it's YOU being violated.

"Right to keep and bear arms in order to maintain a well regulated militia."

It does not say this. Because a well regulated militia must be maintained, the right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed.

Today, we call this type of militia a standing army.

How do we know that my interpretation is correct and yours is not? There are over 400,000,000 firearms in the possession of citizens. This did not happen using your misunderstanding of the 2nd Amendment. The Bill of Rights limits the government, not the citizens.

You are living in a fake America. The US Government does not give 2 shits about your imaginary rights

Sadly, probably true. So we better start working back towards freedom and away from this big government communist thing…

I will take your nonsense response to mean that you stand corrected on your absurd take on the 2nd Amendment.

Ironically, though, the 2nd Amendment was instituted for exactly the reason you just cited.
