It's all about the destruction of the family. Marx hated the idea of families so all of his minions today are going after children to "educate" them about irrelevant stuff, many times without parental knowledge or consent.

In a Marxist world, the state are the parents and the actual parents are just slaves to the state.

"In a Marxist world, the state are the parents and the actual parents are just slaves to the state"

Quite literally the opposite, as in a Marxist world, [stop me if you heard this one before] the workers ARE the state and fully in charge of it, as in decision by consesus.

Please stop, I've heard that narrative before.

Yep, that's why I choose individualism over collectivism. In a collectivist society there are no winners, everybody loses equally.

The left reacts the same way every time a new Communist system is established: First with enthusiasm; THIS time it will be right.

Then the system collapses into starvation and violence, and a strong state takes over in the name of the common good and to protect against "counter-revolutionaries", at which point the left dismisses it as "Oh, it wasn't real Communism after all!"

History? I live in Europe and remember a time we had a wall in Berlin and an iron curtain all the way down the middle of the continent.

My colleagues and friends in Poland, Czechia, Romania, etc. all tell me they don't recommend socialism. Or communism, or whatever word you call it. No matter what excuses you come up with or how you try to "redefine" it.

I take their experience over your over-confidence.

Just sayin'.
3 ups, 2y
Well, you seem to have nothing to discuss except how what didn't work in Europe or Venezuela or Zimbabwe will somehow magically work in North America.

Victorious?

No, I don't want to live in a world where the working man is victorious.

Neither do I want to live in a world where whatever you consider the opposite of the working man, is victorious.

(and this comment is based on the word "always" being implied with your use of the word "victorious")

There is plenty to go around for everyone. Nobody has to achieve victory over someone else for everyone to enjoy the abundance.

Now, if you want to talk about capitalism, and the notion that one product or company will win out over another due to being superior, then sure, because the market in effect declares a victor.
That's a legitimate term to use in that case. But not if you're talking about working man vs. white collar, or whatever your definition is.

B b b but, real Communism has never been tried!

Idiots, useful idiots everywhere!

Thanks Tom. If I didn't already know I agreed with most things you post, I would be able to figure it out by your handle, 2ATom! 👍

You don't, I've also heard that particular phrase almost as often as I've heard of atrocities committed in the name of Communism.

No, the voices in your head are the ones that tell you you can make the irrational work by "redefining" it.

Wow, that's about as naive as it gets modda.

Communism as a concept, is laced with irony. (you know, when the intended meaning is different than the actual meaning...)

The workers are the state... HA! Good one!

Are you even vaguely aware that it can be defined any way that a commie wants it to be defined, particularly when their target audience is gullible, naive, and just plain dumb?

I was born in the midwest, and we have a saying, modda; you can put pig on a lipstick, but it's still a pig.

I've read The Communist Manifesto by Marx and Engels (not recently, but when I was younger and far more left-leaning, politically) and it's nothing but a fantasy. It completely ignores basic human tendencies and presents communism in a way that it can never, and has never, been implemented in any kind of practical sense.

So yes, I am even vaguely aware of what the very definition of communism is. And no, a basic scripted knee-jerk reaction with no understanding does not really suffice. I have my own reaction, based on what I know.

I should have known you prefer communism, modda. Please, PLEASE try it out for yourself sometime. If you go offline for a few years trying it out, I'll be most interested to hear your updated thoughts about it upon your return to freedom and liberty.

Modda's reply has been deleted, so I can't confirm what you wrote here Hank, but it sure looks to me like you're dead on accurate with your assessment! 👍

I got tired of his trolling and gave him my assessment of him, which earned me a slap over the wrists by the modda-raters.
2 ups, 2y
Hey modda, maybe you could re-post your reply? (since it's been deleted, which I assume the mods did?)

You say that, but in every instance the government goes around killing millions and completely controls everything. See this would only work in some kind of system where the people vote in representatives that make the laws and can be voted out, and only when the voting is kept free and fair.

The problem is no system of government can withstand corruption and humans are inherently corrupt. There are systems that last a while though. Like any system that plays greed, power, and corruption against each other like the 3 branches of US government.

The comment was deleted. Do I need to screenshot it and include it in my comment so you can't pull this again?

Ignore him. He is troll who plays games. His schtick is to bait you into an argument, then he deletes a comment or two and then “play” dumb and tell you that you replied to the WRONG comment.
Next, he will accuse you of flagging him and that you’re Portuguese or Phoenician , p’raps even Congolese…

I have never listened to Alex Jones in my life. Only the memes my guy.

But why is it crazy to think that things are uncontrolled?

Not Alex Jones, just facts. Look at the members of the council on foreign relations, the Bilderberg group, etc...etc... All those globalist organizations and almost all the people in power across the western world are members.

I read books, but most people have stopped writing them. Now it's all news websites and social media.

I do jump in in any convo I feel like.

I just don't complain about stalkers.

There was a guy that was jumping in on every comment I made because he wanted to convince me how bad cops are. It didn't matter the subject being discussed.

Some might call that stalking I called it BLOCKED.

So your contention, Octavia, is that "marxists" are nothing more than figments of the imagination?
4 ups, 2y,

Pretty weak, Octavia. So I guess you must have some kind of "marxists x-ray glasses" and can tell when they're here and when they're not! Good on you!
6 ups, 2y
So you just couldn't contain yourself, modda? You just had to reply? Since you did, a reasonable conclusion is that you believe Octavia can't reply for herself, right modda? OR, that even if she does, your reply is just so good that it had to be posted.

THAT is pretty weak, and imo, fairly insulting to Octavia.

She may come to your defense, out of some misguided feeling that like-thinking people (politically) should stand up for each other, or for some other odd reason that I can't anticipate, but the bottom line is I would never speak for Octavia, as you seem to think you can.
