Speaking as a conservative I don't want curriculum eliminated in public schools, I want public schools eliminated! Also note Conservatives are not about smaller government (that's more libertarianism) they, Conservatives are about freedom, family and moral principles which are most often, but not always, best served by limited government.

The law limits what public (i.e. government) schools can teach children without parental consent. So it is a limitation set on government. Specifically what the government can teach your children

All kinds of choice to be had. Don't like what your kids are learning at public school? Send them to private school or home school them. Don't like what Florida is doing? Don't live there.

That's choice and that's freedom.
