Sad thing is,
They DO want open borders, higher taxes, higher fossil fuel prices and they don’t care about the military and our alias.

I don't think that's actually true.

The MAY want open boarders because foreign tourism is lucrative. They may want higher taxes, but only for the so-called 1% who own the majority of money (i.e. not any of the middle classes). They do want energy independence or rather more affordable renewable energy; which may cause fuel prices to go up. They do care about the military and, for a time, we all agreed that we shouldn't have been in the middle-east in the first place nor should our troops have remained.

Projecting and generalizing the differences in groups of people that do exist only lengthens the divide, it does not close it. It may feel better to say it's all one groups fault for everything going wrong but then... you get dangerously close to regarding a certain group as undesirable and thus... expendable.

All true. I was just pointing out that people vote democrat for those very reasons - generalized as they may be.

wondering if you notice that nobody upvotes your comments and if you know why

Because the truth hurts.

Also, a piece from the “tldr” comment:

While it won’t get you to the front page of the Politics stream, it will certainly lessen your frustrations if you actually try to understand their point of view.

Unlike you, I don’t need upvotes to cope with my anxieties of the world collapsing around me. The truth is more than enough for me.

"No one has pushed the idea of undesirables harder than Democrats"

Through what legislation?

I would say that pushing the idea that anyone who disagrees with you is an undesirable or deplorable does not have to be"codified" to be despicable; ergo legislation is irrelevant in this context

So, your complaints about Democrats have no foundation based solely on their primary function but rather their generalized dismissive attitude and rhetoric.

And your response to such despicable actions is to be generally dismissive of them with your rhetoric?

I see.

"I see."
apparently not.

Tell us, how should one react to despicable behavior
if not to find it contemptuous?
(another word for dismissive; your word not mine)

I just did.

Call it despicable without generalizing Democrats and the people who vote for them.

And then move on.

I’ll elaborate.

Hillary stupidly called out voters without understanding the choices we’re offered. I get the impression the people who voted for Trump and Republicans are generally unhappy with who is legislating.

It’s so much easier to just dismiss a group of people and be frustrated with their choices of A or B. That doesn’t mean Republicans are always a better choice in every single situation. There people who are not just unhappy with Democrats but Republicans as well. Surely, if a Republican were in office and you were unhappy with them, you wouldn’t be so partisan as to believe they are your only choice.

Perhaps you are!

Most people, however, do not consider just the party they vote for but rather the individual candidates. And if in those specific states the incumbent is Republican yet this general unhappiness to their legislations or policy remains; then it is reasonable to vote for someone else.

And not just third party. Some people are aware that in some cases they don’t have a realistic third option. Heck, in my state, we didn’t even /have/ a Democrat run for a senate seat. This is why, I think, people were so enthusiastic to vote for Trump. While he got the Republican nomination, he isn’t really a Republican. Or, at least, he isn’t generally viewed as the typical Republican. Trump is not the only exception to this rule.

Whether you like it or not, there are a handful of Democrats who try to appeal to both moderates and conservatives just as there are Republicans who try to appeal to both moderates and liberals. As they should!

It’s far too easy to lay all the frustrations and unhappiness onto a singular party and their voters. While it won’t get you to the front page of the Politics stream, it will certainly lessen your frustrations if you actually try to understand their point of view.

Thinking of any group as the enemy will radicalize anyone. If you find the alternative so unsatisfying then you can at least consider to know your enemy first. Perhaps you think you already know them but ask yourself this:

If you’re viewing people as your enemy based solely on their values (or lack thereof) then perhaps you’re emulating the very behavior you find so despicable.

Because your way is more just? More righteous? What if they think the same? How do we bridge the gap? Do you even want to? And if you don’t care to make peace with people you disagree with then I must ask:

How is what you’re doing any different?

If you really want to find someone on imgflip who believes the Russian hoaxers, I'm sure StanHalen's profile page would be a good place to start. I don't go there because I have disagreed with everything he's ever posted, the exception being one time. Which only proves it's a rule.

Interesting. I don't know if you're Russian or not, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't concern me. As long as a person believes in freedom, they're off on the correct foot with me.

That particular individual is particularly troubled, imo. He (assuming it's a he...) pretends to want to have a conversation on a level other than name calling, then when presented with a post of more than a sentence or two, cries TL;DR!

Having no attention span is no way to go through life.

Well it's like this. They have to keep voting Democrat because if they don't they'll be called racists. Being called a racist is much worse to them than illegal immigrants flooding into this country, higher taxes, energy independence and the cost of gasoline and leaving thousands of Americans stranded and surrounded by terrorists. It's a mental disorder.
