Pot is a Schedule 1 drug. While you (and state sanctioned legal weed businesses) must report the income, federal tax code does not allow the deduction of the cost of selling marijuana.

Now you know why the dispensary prices are so high.

Legalize then tax it to heck.
1 up, 2y
Or just legalize it. Taxation is extortion.

That is the Dumb Criminals section of the IRS form

They're not joking about the illegal activity - that's what Al Capone was convicted of. Not murdering people or running a vicious mob shakedown racket or illegal bookmaking or running booze. It wasn't for any of the rackets he admittedly oversaw. It was for tax evasion for not reporting the income from all these things.

True story: a job I had in college was preparing taxes for people at Hewlett Jackson. At the training, they said that often had people come in to file their tax forms, and several years of back taxes, for the criminal activity they'd been arrested for.

That way, if found guilty, they wouldn't have to pay significant fines and risk more jail time for tax evasion. I was like, "that's some crazy bullshit right there. That'll never happen. What criminal would do this?"

It happened 3 times at the store I worked at from January through April.

The first two were for dealing significant amounts of weed, and the last one was for fencing stolen goods.

Not talking about you, but no criminal is dumb enough to cheat the IRS, except for maybe Wesley Snipes and Al Capone that is.

Ok so if people have to report their income from selling drugs then all the equipment needed to make/grow their drugs should be good for a business expense write off?

Imagine meth head Mike going down to get his meth equipment appraised lol
