About half of that died from covid and they would have died from the flu if not covid.

Agreed. The covid death numbers are over-stated.

ok but that would still be 2.275 million

You are a child. And have the reasoning and communication skills of a child with an undeveloped brain and personality. Please do not burden us with your juvenile opinions in adult matters.
Thank you in advance because your opinion really doesn't matter. Take my word for it.

Your opinion is like a really green, half grown banana. Nobody wants to consume it.

I hope you realize that those "multiple mental illnesses" are just part of being a normal human. We all go through what you described, but somebody is making a living from telling you they're mental illnesses.

Every generation feels like you believe yours does about the state of the world, being depressed, and having to clean up the mess from prior generations. I'm an old Gen X and I felt exactly the same way at your age.

Honestly, you sound like based on these faux diagnoses, that you have some kind of defeatist attitude, or a simple inferiority complex, possibly not for just yourself, but for your entire generation.

The good news for you is that I'm here to tell you that you're perfectly normal, or at least based on what you've written, you seem perfectly normal. You also seem, to me at least, intelligent and well spoken, so you're miles ahead of most people in this world. So suck it up and get on with life. It will be what you make of it, and changing your attitude can turn your reality around 180 degrees. Trust me on this, I've been there and somehow managed to survive and even thrive.

I feel like I can sort of trust everything you just said except for the part on "faux diagnoses"
I have autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and intrusive thoughts. Anxiety and depression seem pretty normal nowadays, but the others definitely aren't. I'm not saying they're rare, there is still a fairly large community of diagnosed and undiagnosed with those other three, but it doesn't affect everyone. I can barely focus or sit still. Most other students I know are able to focus easily and sit still for long periods of time. It's just like a normal condition, but it affects your brain.

Did I miss you mentioning that you're autistic? If I did, then I apologize. Nothing faux about that. Still, even with autism and everything else you've mentioned, your mind is clearly sharp enough to write intelligent, mature, well crafted posts here on the flip. If I understood your age range correctly, it means you're well ahead of most of your contemporaries in terms of maturity and intelligence. To me those are huge advantages for you. So yes, definitely deal with the actual problems, but also do your best to focus on the advantages that you have. I am still positive that with the right attitude, which will lead to the right behavior, your adult life will turn out just fine. As a great songwriter said (I'm paraphrasing here...) every day that your gratitude exceeds your expectations, you'll have a great day. Keep stacking 'em, and before long, you're having a great life!

"The brain is not fully developed until around age 35"

That's why they say, to paraphrase "If you aren’t a liberal when you’re young, you have no heart, but if you aren’t a middle-aged conservative, you have no head." There are dozens of variations of that phrase, pick one.

Read it again chum, I said that there are a lot of variations on the phrase. Do some research and independent thinking.

I am more developed than any other teenager in my age group. I do above average on most skill level tests and I know my way around my mind.

I'm not saying I regurgitate stuff. I'm saying I actually think and question things.
I have done more questioning of the system than any anti-vaxxer, flat-earther, or anyone else. I like to put myself in other's shoes to be sure my opinions are justified. Think about it. What reason would the government have for faking a global pandemic and ruining the economy? That does the opposite of benefiting them.

. Think about it. What reason would the government have for faking a global pandemic and ruining the economy? That does the opposite of benefiting them. Really ????? This statement only proves you are a child who has never studied history.
At its very best government is a necessary evil. The government does not give a Damm about people only its own power and privilege! Ever heard of the Nazis? Ever read about the kamar Rouge? The killing fields? The Armenian genocide? Stalin ? Moa and his cultural revolution?

The trail of tears? Gulags in Russia? The Tuskegee experiment? Hell have you ever heard of Afghanistan? 20 years of war and killing and TRILLIONS of dollars how has that benifitted anyone but corporations and people in government? You have a lot of growing up to do I wish you luck and please read some Damm history

You only see the worst. Yes, the government has done some bad things, but an individual country's government does not do things on purpose that directly hurt the entire country. No one is that stupid. People were stupid enough to support racism, sexism, nazism but nobody is stupid enough to kill off the majority of their country. If you're president, and you directly cause your country to fall apart on purpose, you're ruling over nothing and it's your own fault. No president is that stupid

They are not Stupid, no not said they were stupid they are evil and greedy the incidents I noted are not isolated, or exceptions they are the rule! once again you are showing you lack of understanding or knowledge of history.

This is not to say everyone in government is greedy or evil, many perhaps most are, but the few good government are either overwhelmed by those seeking power and either become apathetic or corrupted by their peers. once again you are displaying your youthful ignorance and naivete READ SOME HISTORY BOOKS and I would add some philosophy. power corrupts absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Wait... So you're 13, have (probably) went to Public School your entire life, and you have a political opinion?

You make a good point on anti drunk driving ads. However - vape and smoking ads to quit... Guess who pays for those? The Vape and smoking industry. Why would industries pay to advertise against their product? Because it's the only way to advertise their products on television.

Anti smoking and anti vape ads - serve a greater purpose. Which is to advertise their product - they catch the attention and a good percentage of the watchers of the ad, will be rebellious - and pick up the habit.

If advertising Vape and Smoking were legal to do on Television in the United States, you wouldn't see anti vape and anti smoking commercials - you would only see regular advertisements trying to draw people in to the product.

I went to a few trashy private preschools where all that really happened was bullying, favoritism, and for some reason eating bread we had painted on with watercolors. (idek big island preschools are weird) I was also homeschooled by my mom for half of the second grade, but she's really bad at teaching. It's a wonder I passed 3rd grade after moving to the mainland.
I guess what you're saying about the anti-smoking ads makes sense though.
