Out of over 1,000,000 people who got an abortion only 471,000 abortions were provided to patients who reported they were using contraception in the month they became pregnant. So that means over 50% use abortion as birth control.

You know, you can't kill (withhold active treatment) a person if they have brain waves showing brain activity viability. But you can kill (pull the plug) a person if they are "brain dead". This is an accepted medical practice - with a statistically small number disagreeing. So, why is this not the same criteria for a fetus? Why is this not the definition for all viable life?

38 states recognize a fetus as a living person when it comes to violence done to a pregnant woman. If she and her "clump of cells" die it's considered a double homicide. As far as I know gestational age at the time of the murder doesn't matter. But, abortion still makes sense somehow?

As far as brain activity would you be for abortion before brain waves are detected? It's about the same time the heart starts beating. 6 weeks.

"No sustainable or complex nervous system is in place until approximately six months of gestation.
The fact that it is clear that a human brain isn't viable until week 23, and only then with the aid of modern medical support."

Okay how about the double homicide part? You just intentionly ignored that. And the fact that you are ignoing the peevious 22 weeks of stage of life regardless of brain being viable. Whatever makes you sleep at night for enabling and approving child murder.

The same standard should be used when determining killing a fetus and calling it the taking of a life. Loss of a fetus by vehicle accident or intential harm to mother when the fetus is less than 23 weeks should be handled as a civil matter, not a criminal matter. And I sleep well, thank you.

well you tell that to those 38 states. Sad that the bar has dropped that low in your case when it concerns murder of an unborn human being, my moral bar remains high. Cheers!

Yes, you are a morally superior human being.

And you are morally inferior. Now you’ve got it!

Indeed he is. Good that you recognize it.

And I have standards.

Over 97% use it as a form of birth control.

because men dont wear condoms?
3 ups, 3y,

Sometimes, but even when they do wear them a high percentage of abortions are because of failed contraceptives so how is abortion the solution? Also why has the male birth control pill not been developed? I think it's unfair to put the entire onus of avoiding pregnancy on the women (though I'm personally against all types of birth control)

2 ups, 3y
There is, was a male birth control, but men didn't like the way it made them feel. They're still working on it. In the 80's we just wore our jeans so tight all the sperm died.

I love the Texas idea- stop all rape. easy one two three and done!

How do you think practically speaking that could be done?
3 ups, 3y,

ask Abbott that is what he said yesterday, so it must be easier than we thought?

I mean yea who doesn't want to stop rape but we gotta get every rapist on board or ensuring every rape incident is reported which depends on compliance by the victims (who in most cases actually know or live with their attacker). I wonder how we can do that? I think there needs to be huge improvements made to the justice system, counseling for women traumatized by rape and a much easier reporting system, stricter punishments for those criminals and something like this could take decades. What can be done meanwhile to help rape victims?

Contraception

You're for the death penalty?
0 ups, 3y,

Hell yes. So are 60% of american adults according to polling done over the summer. Certain crimes are heinous enough that those people should lose the right to live among us in civilized society. There's no "rehab" that will bring murder victims back to life or bring peace to rape victims. the damage is permanent and the punishment should be, too.

And what about when the courts get it wrong? Are you okay with potentially putting an innocent man to death? Because I'm sure not.
0 ups, 3y
You're just fine with making him spend his life in prison alongside the people that truly deserve death while they get free meals and lodging for the rest of their life without having to work for anything instead? Your lack of faith in the justice system or rule of law is an entirely separate issue from the death penalty. You could literally apply that same logic to ANY punishment for a crime. "We shouldn't put people in prison for grand theft because what if we incarcerate the wrong guy?"

make them carry the child is a great start- it will teach them a lesson... um, sure, that's the ticket

being raped is punishment.
So Abbott will stop all rape before it happens? Please tell me how that work, Marty McFly.. back to the future?

Abbott wants to stop future rape, but has backlog of DNA KITS from the past he cant get through......

Prevention of future occurrences and prosecution of past occurrences. It seems an insurmountable goal but better to try than ignore the problem right?

Prevent a rape? Ok, let's give all males over the age of 12 a psych profile. if you dont pass, you get castrated. Solved. Sign up, now Texans

Or have more concealed carry liberties. If somebody attempts to kidnap and rape a woman, she can better defend herself.

"New Texas law allowing people to carry handguns without permits stirs mix of fear, concern among law enforcement".

It sounds like they have tha taken care of.

Let me make myself clear, I was playing devils advocate. You cannot legislate FOR FUTURE CRIMES.

I have 3 sons, even while they are learning to walk and talk I'm teaching them respect for their own bodies and of others. It's the parents' job to role model integrity. They certainly aren't learning it from the media and the role models society holds up as a standard.

We both know that it's a good chance the ones that are brought up right, arent the ones committing the crimes...in all likelyhood.

So what to do about the ones who dont get a good home? Castrate if failed eval?

Never happen
2 ups, 3y
Bringing them up right now will make it easier down the road.

What would be on the evaluation? I think other remediation should be attempted before going the castrating route (although i'm not opposed to that measure for those who have been tried and proven to commit that crime) such as therapy, addiction recovery, finding what trauma they have gone through to make them perpetuate the problem.

Gender roles...

So because you play along with what their narrative says, doesn't mean thay I do. And you call yourself a free thinker amd think of yourself as a maverick, meanwhile you conform to their narrative.

Keep up the good fight there...ypu go along with something that you disagree with. Haha all in the name of trying to be a keyboard toughguy.

Guys are guys, girls are girls. I dont give a shit what they say. And you can go along with their narrative, if you wish. Let me know when you hear of a 12 girl committing sexual crimes against others.

You are trying to argue a point that I have not made. All of my suggestions were nothing more than an example of things that you cannot do, ever. Charge for precrimes. That is hilarious! Evaluate a teen for future deviant activity! Parhetic.

“Let me know when you hear of a 12 girl committing sexual crimes against others.”

Happens a lot more than you’d think, and most of the time to boys younger than them. I myself was stripped and violated when I was around 4 years old by a 10 year old girl.

Man you are pretty dense, you give them chemicals that kill the urge for sexual desires and pleasures.

No charge for the class.
2 ups, 3y
Okay. Let’s say that works.

Now would you agree that the chemical castration psych evaluations should be for ALL people over the age of 12, not just the males like you wanted?

Please remember that 99% of male rape victims do not report it, so there are a lot more female rapists than we think.

You seem to think I an advocate for such moves. I am not....I am proving a point of precrimes....have a nice day....
2 ups, 3y
You’re also proving your gender bias by saying “all males” and not ‘all people’.
