For one thing, one the top cause of death is accidents, which severely reduced since everyone is at home and not driving.

Of course cancer and heart diseases is still the #1 killer in the US by magnitudes while illnesses from flu is really low to begin with, so not much will change in that area unless of course, we have an uncontrolled outbreak like.... Brazil or India. Did you check out the death rates of those countries?

Which means we had 200,000 extra deaths than forecasting models. The data presented by the OP was a forecasting model - that stood pretty correct and was for decades a great model.

When you take the forecast - add in the extra deaths because of COVID... It makes you wonder why 200,000 folks over forecast croaked. If you look into it deeper - you will notice that it's because the Boomers are dying off. If you look at the total COVID deaths... You will see that boomers made up more than HALF of the COVID deaths.

Which means that to normal not elderly people - COVID is way less likely to kill them.

3.4 million minus 2.5 million is not 200,000. Your calculator is broken, get a new one.

3.4 million - 371K covid deaths... Is 3.129 Million. 3.129 Million - 200K extra deaths... Is 2,931,000 -- which is right around what should have been the death rate according to a forecasting model of a normal death rate.

When you look at who is currently dying off - it's the Baby Boomers. Who made up one of the largest generations of people ever born.

Which means that the death rate is normal - save for 371K additional deaths (from COVID).

See that's what's wrong with you. I'm literally speaking as to how and why the death rates jumped so much, agreeing with COVID deaths. Quite apart from anything else, 200,000 is less than 8% of a forecast of the death rate which barely needs explaining. Forecasts are noisy by definition.
