Well if you're Cuban - you don't live in the United States.  The US is basically the world's foremost expert in oppression.  Not Nigeria or Asia where slaves are still a thing.  Not China where you are government property.  Not in Russia where people get killed for thinking separate from Putin.... It's the good ole US of A.



Where spoiled young adults can't deal with reality, so they claim oppression.

You are not and glad you see that! I only felt oppression once when I  was a Nuclear Biological Chemical Army Officer!  I was told I could not go to Ranger School because they did not need me to do that!  That was my only life oppression!

Only in America can there be more black lawyers, doctors, millionaires, business owners, government officials, black teachers , black police, and so on.... Meanwhile, my shoes are from Walmart, I have no allowance, and I used to share a room with three siblings. I'm white, though, which means I'm privileged. There's a good chance someone on my dad's side of the family owned a slave hundreds of years ago, but most of my family is descended from immigrants that came here in the last century. So obviously I'm a privileged bigot.

My wife and children descended from slaves in the USA.  I  watched my Grandpa and Grandma live in a shack with no running water and I  had to use the out house in the snow in Pennsylvania at their shack.   Yet I am Privileged?  Yeah I am! Why?  I worked my ass off! Passed College Graduate US Army Officer Nuclear Biological Chemical School!  Where I got to be a commander of a Training unit where I woke up at 3:45 AM to be at my unit at 415AM to do PT at 430 AM. Train all  who I only saw an American flag on their shoulder! That is all that mattered to me.   Attitude and Ability! Race, Sex meant nothing to me!

"Many of our most basic rights have nothing to do with wealth",   in a perfect world I would agree with you 100%.  But in this world,  wealth = power and power ensures the individuals rights can not be or are far less likely to be oppressed.  People from every race are oppressed by this fact.

Wealth = power, to a degree but it can be taken away.  The meme isn’t talking about great wealth. A thousand dollar phone? How much time do people spend on their phones? Replaced on average every 2 or 3 years and often subsidized through the cell carrier?



Many countries in the Middle East are extremely wealthy and citizens have great luxury, but aren’t free from oppression. There are also degrees of oppression. 



I can’t decide which logical fallacy this is... maybe false dilemma - luxury and oppression can coexist. 



Bread and circuses have been replaced with delivery and YouTube.

I don't think there is a logical fallacy ,  I think it is pointing out Classism and victim mentality.  I agree with the degrees of oppression, and to that fact , we are all oppressed to certain degrees.. except for the ultra rich, Pharmaceuticals, The industrial war machine, Zuckerberg and Bazos and some other untouchables that can get away with anything.

just off the top of my head... how about Putting asbestos in baby powder, Pharmaceuticals Johnson and Johnson did it in the 70s and knew for decades the risk of cancers ?  Or the military industry selling weapons to our enemies that are used to kill our allies and Americans? And God only knows what crimes Zuckerberg and Bezos may have committed  seeing that they own and control the major sources of information and can spoon feed untrained minds false information to alter perspectives at will.

One can also say  that no one in America is on the extreme end of Oppression today,  not even close to it. When we can take into consideration other parts of the world including China , Russia and other Middle Eastern countries,  where basic human rights are denied and in some cases their very lives are taken trying to exercise those rights.  I think the meme is trying to point out that people claiming they are completely oppressed ,  have never been completely oppressed ..  not even close.  However, some Children in America act like they are.

Sure people have it worse. I think most things here fall under discriminatiion more than oppression, but there is definitely a case for oppression. 



To use an analogy, if you work for a company that isn't paying you fairly, but is paying you better than a bunch of other companies, does that make it fair? No.  You are lucky not to work for one of the others, but that doesn't remove any unfairness.

I feel the problem here in America is that people want to be a victim - they have the victim mentality,  and when someone has that mentality -  everything is discrimination or acts of oppression,  didn't get the job?  Oh, it is because you are black,  not because you don't have the proper skillset needed, or You got fired because you are homosexual,  not because you  were caught giving a bl***ob in the office to your boyfriend.  Victim mentality is (imo) the leading cause of failure, that  and entitlement mentality,  thinking you deserve a position even if you do not have the skills needed for it.

Victim mentality is just as strong on the right. 



If I lose the election i was cheated. If I didn't get a job it must have been affirmative action or immigrants. My kids turned out liberal it must be the teachers fault, not him deciding on his own. 



The fact is there are real victims and there are people who pretend to be victims. There will always be people who make excuses, but you can't let there people who cry wolf desensitize you to actual unfairness. 



Cases have to be evaluated individually.
