There. I fixed it. This is what I meant in the first meme. I don't think blacks are A) stupid and B) too stupid to get a voter ID. I think blacks are no different than any other race, some are stupid and some are super smart and most are somewhere in between.

Still says you think blacks are stupid. Or makes a reference to it. There You fixed it you are racist. Congrats. We all are. (Sarcasm.)

I just picked up on this idea that getting a voter ID was racist from the Democrats. The only conclusion I could come up with as to why it was racists is that they think blacks are too stupid to get a voter ID.

Democrats think it through. Republicans and conservatives have been watching them cheat for decades so we decided to do something about it and came up with a voter ID. Dems knees jerked and they ran to their list of reasons to oppose Republicans. Racism is at the top of that list and that is why it is used most of the time.

They gave no reason, because they don't have to. They can just make an accusation and the media approves it.

Seeing how voter ID would not be issued based on race then the only other possibility is that Democrats just think blacks are too stupid to get a voter ID. So I made a meme.

You know very well that there are roadblocks to getting IDs which make it harder for usually lower income folks to get one. Some states allow a gun license to vote but not an ID from a University. So it's not that people are too stupid to fill out the paperwork but obviously have other things going on which make it harder to get an ID.

Why don't you take the time to find as many impoverished blacks and ask them if they can't get a driver's license.

Blacks are just not stupid like you think they are. If they want a voter ID they can get a voter ID just like everyone else. Ask them.

Nope, you're the one who started in with the blacks being too stupid to get a DL bullshit. You're not going to spin this off on me. The whole idea about it being racist is about multiple minorities, not just blacks so why you went straight there says a lot about you.

In North Dakota, there was a voter ID law that required a residential street address which impacted Native Americans who lived on reservations. Voter ID laws reduce the numbers of minorities who vote. It's been known. The whole reason why the GOP is pushing for that now is because of how Drumpf lost Georgia due to record turnout of voters. That's why the bill was signed behind closed doors. The GOP is now trying to suppress the vote. Why Repubs are trying to play innocent on this one is ridiculous. It's obvious what they're trying to do. https://phys.org/news/2020-06-voter-id-laws-discriminate-racial.html

The fact you claim it doesn't affect non minorities as well says alot about you, Mr black Supremacist.

And Abby was parroting the lib view on it so nice try.

If you are a Democrat then it is and always has been 100% yours. If you think that blacks at any income level are incapable of getting a DL or a voter ID or filing taxes or whatever then you are a racist in a racist party.

How the law is implemented is not the problem. This is about the idea of voter ID, not how some idiot writes the law.

Voter ID cards have been pushed by the GOP for years, long before Trump. If you had guzzled down the Kool-Aid then you should agree with the idea of vote ID cards to make a attempt at keeping our elections honest.

The entire reason Dems opposed them is because it will make it a little harder for you guys to cheat. Anyone with a brain can see right through your opposition.

Georgia's 'acting governor', Brian Kemp, told Trump that Georgia's election results were valid, and yet they needed to pass a lot of new laws aimed at "enhancing election security". only an idiot would believe it was really about election security. you're not an idiot, are ya, P?

If you don't need an ID to vote, why need one to drive? Why need one to go to universities? Why need one for loan requests?

It seems reasonable to request that only U.S citizens can vote in U.S elections. Now, if cost is an issue then there should be a program where people who can prove a hardship can receive an ID for free. That's absolutely reasonable. But this whole nonsense of, "Oh voter ID's are racist but you need a vaccine passport to step outside your door (hyperbole)." is truly idiotic.

those are three very good examples, Iggy. i tell you something now that your folks should have mentioned when you left the nest. the world runs on money. or more precisely, on the desire for money. driving, going to college, and getting loans are all about profit. profit for insurance companies, profit for university trustees, and profit for banks. the GOP is finally taking action to affirm that votes = money. votes lead to power and power leads to money. i don't know what took them so long.

i personally have no problem with requiring ID to vote. you may (or may not) be surprised to hear that all states already require some form of identification from their voters. of course they do. the problem is that the GOP is aiming to require more formal kinds of ID, knowing that many people will not acquire those IDs, thereby lowering voter turnout. there is no problem to solve, in their view, other than reducing voter turnout selectively among non-Conservatives. if you can make the jump to this slightly higher level of awareness, you will have begun the process of shedding the shackles of the GOP brainwash

What “more formal” id’s are they requesting that any citizen can’t obtain?
[deleted]

none that i'm aware of at this point (although I wouldn't be surprised to find some odd requirements somewhere; why can’t you do your own research?). the point is not just whether they can be obtained. yes, some states/counties will do their best to frustrate minority voters, but some voters who expect the frustrations will decide 'the hell with it'. those challenges are the main strategy behind these new laws. it's not pro-security. it's anti-democracy. do you really not know this?

Will you please show me specifically in the bill where it details these new 'more formal' ID's that evidently are more difficult to obtain than a regular ID? Then will you explain to me why these ID's specifically target blacks?

I'll never ignore a good argument, so please don't think I'm leading you on or anything. I just know that we have the 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution (passed by my man President Grant), and if this law is truly a problem then the Supreme Court will strike it down post haste.

i didn't see any such thing in the bill. i mean something like state-issued I/Ds rather than simply accepting a voter's signature or commonly used ways of confirming residency.

nor did I say the laws were racist. that may be partly their intent, I don't know.

i'm not a constitutional law buff, so i don't know if the laws contravene anything other than the spirit of the Constitution. so they may get away with it legally. it's the certain practical considerations they should probably pay more attention to.

I didn't see anything wrong in the bill either. That's my point; it's not a bad bill. This whole blowup against Georgia is for nothing. It's not difficult to get a state ID card, and ID is required for enough things (purchasing alcohol/tobacco/vape products, setting up a bank account, etc) that everyone should have one anyways. If we're going to ask for ID to let someone buy alcohol, we'd better ask for ID to determine who serves the people as elected officials.

Now, if there's a good database in Georgia with all citizen registration, and a signature match can be used to confirm citizenship in a state, then that should be a valid option. However, at that point the person will have been issued an ID card anyways...so it should be a moot point.

At the end of the day I'm a Montanan, and states set their own voting rules, so it's not really my business I suppose.

One followup: But if you saw no such issues relating to ID's in the bill [evinced by you saying, "I didn't see any such thing in the bill" when I asked you to elaborate how it required stiffer ID types compared to regular identification, and in other comments I've read your opposition to the bill seems grounded in ID changes, then what exactly do you oppose about it? I genuinely don't see how you can acknowledge that it doesn't impose unreasonable ID requirements and yet contend that it does. : /

how can you be so good at making memes but so consumed with propaganda that you ask that question sincerely? the entire bill restricts voter access. if you were to got to your little cousin's third grade class and give a talk on how that bill improves election security, how would you answer the question, "But Mr./Ms. P, didn't Gov. Kemp tell Mr. Trump the elections were already secure?"

You have provided no facts or arguments defending your position. You just word vomit.

Exactly what part of the Georgia bill is voter suppression?

Could it be making early voting available on more weekends including Sunday? Maybe it is requiring all early voting sites to be open for a minimum of eight hours. It must be the part allowing voters to request mail-in ballots online. Nah, it has to be the part that says all 159 election districts must have ballot drop boxes at every early voting site. Could it be the part that says those voting sites with more than 2,000 voters and waits times longer than an hour have to hire more staff, add more workers, or split up the precinct?

Do you even know what is in the bill or are you just spouting leftist talking points?

oh Perspy. it's like you don't know me at all.

I'm not here to convince you or anyone of my position. think back to all the times that your worthy adversaries really buckled down and did their best to convince you that you're falling for the same rubbish that everyone else is. how many times did that work on you? none, I think. so why would I spend my time on something like that. I wouldn't.

I'm here on a mercy mission to learn the ways of your people while I think on a plan to save you all from yourselves. I don't want to get your hopes up at this point, but please know that not everyone has given up on you. if there's a way to turn your ship around, by golly, I will find it and then we'll get buy-in from Gates, Bezos, or Musk to help it become real. in the mean time, meme on, my buddy ( :
