Take me with you, I wanna save Teddy from being shot. Yeah, I know he survived and laughed off his own assassination but I think he’d live longer without that lodged in his heart.

Keep in mind that FDR hasn't massively expanded the government at that point, so the overall scope is still smaller (and let's be honest, no one today thinks Teddy was really wrong with his trust busting policies.)/
No, he is the very best president United States ever had, and time proved that. They hated him so much that came to the point that he was shot in one of his speeches for re-election.
Heh so did Theodore Roosevelt. Teddy also lost, yet considered one of the best (and to me he was the best) president this country ever had, and for that had his head carved in Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Obama and Biden will never get their head carved. It is possible that Trump may get it as time pases and people realize the big mistake they made... just as they made with Teddy.
There are numerous reasons no President will ever be added to Mount Rushmore. I would think a fan of Theodore Roosevelt would know that.
Not to mention the fact that Teddy commissioned the monument himself. Such a high honor for... himself. It was merely a publicity stunt meant to inspire people to, ironically, preserve nature in all it’s natural splendor as well as celebrate the country’s 150th anniversary.
Defacing (or rather addfacing) it with a fifth President would be akin to bringing down Confederate Statues and replacing them with Black History figures.

You do realize that Teddy Roosevelt was an avid environmentalist who advocated for consumer protection, worker's rights and anti-trust law, right? So what if he believed in cultural assimilation, If you think his policies were even close to the policies of trump or any other modern republicans you clearly know very little about his presidency.
Assimilates...Trumpy doesnt give a chance to assimilate, that is where the thoughts differ. Roosevelt isnt saying build a border wall, your snippet says come be an Aemrican. So...

The left doesn’t wNt or promote assimilation. They want separate but equal cultures. Without a unifying culture this will never work. American first, whatever else second is a good policy.
By American he is saying that immigrants must assimilate to become Americans, adopting the language, customs, and culture. He certainly didn’t mean erase your heritage. End of story
Right, he is saying you can’t be a Mexican American. But you can be an American of Mexican heritage, but he believes you must identify as American and not hyphenate or proclaim co loyalties to the country you left.
That isn’t what I’ve found in California. I work with them everyday. Lots of them just want to make enough money to buy a house back home. They could care less about citizenship until they start having kids here. Permission to work is much more important to most of them than citizenship. I’m may be different for different groups depending on where they come from but that’s my experience.
Yes perhaps the area has something to do with it. The ones on this side stay...even start their own business and hire locals. This is a real world example. Yes, it is only one, but it is an example. No not most. Cheers, happy Friday good man.
