Trump supporters are told that any news that isn't positive about him is "fake news".
That's just silly. As is the case with most Trump supporters, I'm more than capable of discerning the difference between a fair yet negative report about him, versus hit pieces made up of mostly lies and half truths, as well as facts taken and nuanced to make them misleading, while maintaining the appearance of factual journalism.
Back in 2015 I had no interest in Trump. I enjoyed the republican debates for the sheer entertainment angle only. But I noticed something, on CNN in particular, about the post-debate analysis from their panel of so called experts. They would employ the nuanced technique I mentioned. They would not quote him directly, but instead say what he said, changing it up just enough to make the meaning different. Very subtle technique.
As he became more popular, it became more blatant. By the time he was the nominee and the debates with HRC came around, it was full on "fake news" about him, and it continues to this day with false claims about what he said about Charlottesville. False claims that he refuses to denounce white nationalists, the KKK, etc. News articles refer to these two in particular as established fact, when they absolutely are not.
Hell, even Sundowner Joe made the claim that Trump has never denounced racism and white nationalists. In his case, I'm willing to chalk it up to him just being confused. In the case of you, jokester1, I have no choice but to chalk it up to you hating Trump, for whatever reason, and that making you willing (hell, wanting... needing...) to believe anything negative about him without putting any effort into finding out the truth.
