Why don’t doctors and nurses just stop wearing masks and gloves then? Surgeons especially!

Surgeons only wear masks in the operating room. To prevent body fluids from getting i their mouth when they cut you or are inside. It also prevents them from sneezing or coughing into you exposed internal organs.

You should go educate all those surgeons wearing masks outside the operating room so they don’t keep wasting money on ineffective masks. 🙄

FYI, viruses coming from your mouth and nose travel in droplets which are large enough to be blocked by even a cloth mask. Even aerosolized droplets are reduced by masks.

So if it doesn’t work and it makes you sick, why does the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases wear a mask himself and advocate others to do so as well?

There are different viruses with different levels of precautions required...

And protection is not all or nothing, and different environments and conditions require different protection.
