Lots of studies show masks are ineffective at help you or others. They increase your CO2 to dangerous levels.

Prove it.

Doctors and nurses wear them for twelve hour shifts upwards of six and seven days a week. I haven’t heard of one single fatality attributed to CO2 poisoning.

Stop spreading lies.

Thank you for conceding that I possess real estate in your pea brain, be it temporary or (more likely) permanent.

You know you’ve gotten under someone’s paper-thin skin when they feel the need to memorialize you in their profile.

You’re forgettable. When I leave this site, you disappear from my consciousness like a fart in the wind.

Yup. To be clear face masks are wholly ineffective at stopping or slowing the spread of viruses, which are sub-micron particles. Masks can catch some bacteria and other particles which measure 5 microns and larger.

Absolutely not. Stop following some 1950s droplet theory you saw being promoted on Facebook or 4chan. It's 2020, we know better.

Nothing short of an SCBA respirator prevents it, but every layer of protection reduces your ability to contract.

Basically what you’re conveying is if you’re not getting 100% protection, you want none?

The human respiratory system and immune system has adequate defenses against viruses, bacteria and other pathogens. A few virus particles in the system is not a problem. It does not make you a danger to yourself or others. Coronaviruses do not pose a clear and present danger.

Screeeeeech screeeeeeech screeeeeech.
Do your own research you condescending lazyass. This is basic info that scientists have known for a very long time you disengenuous twat.

"Coughing, sneezing, nasal hairs, respiratory tract cilia, mucous producing lining cells and the phagocytic activity of alveolar macrophages provide protection against inhaled foreign bodies including fungi, bacteria and viruses. Indeed, the pathogen laden aerosols produced by everyday talking and eating would have the potential to cause significant disease if it were not for these effective respiratory tract defences."

BASIC INFORMATION!!!

“Learn what fluid dynamics is jackass.”

Fluid dynamics helps describe the movement of liquids and gases. For example, if a river flowed quickly enough that I could place a dam in front of it, and harness the power of force generated by the river, it would also slow the river down significantly.

Anyone with a brain can see where I’m going with this. I’ll leave the rest up to your imagination.

“Your analogy is shite. You even admitted there are natural respiratory defenses you hypocrite!!!!”

Of course I acknowledge the body has natural defenses. To do otherwise would be to deny science. However, I also acknowledge that the human body doesn’t have *enough* natural defenses to fight off this virus. If wearing a mask helps, it’s not that great of a sacrifice to ask.

I’ll even acknowledge that there’s a possibility, however infinitesimal, wearing a mask does absolutely nothing to prevent spread of the virus; but do you know what I KNOW does nothing to prevent the spread: doing nothing.

So, that being said, put on the mask, you selfish c**t.
1 up, 5y
You seem to like holding up the CDC as an authority, yet you give no citation.

So here is some research done by the CDC that they released in May 2020 titled
"Nonpharmaceutical Measures for Pandemic Influenza in Nonhealthcare Settings—Personal Protective and Environmental Measures"

In the section of this report titled "Face Masks", they say "There is limited evidence for their effectiveness in preventing virus transmission either when worn by the infected person for source control or when worn by uninfected persons to reduce exposure."

They go on to say "Our systematic review found no significant effect of face masks on transmission"

https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/5/19-0994_article

Yet, Dr. Fauci and the rest keep claiming we need to wear masks. It is not about controlling the virus, it is more about controlling you.

The idea is that if you are wearing a face mask it will be a physical reminder that the virus is still around. The mask will remind you to wash your hands more frequently, keep social distancing, and remain isolated, things that actually do work in reducing the spread of the virus.

The mask itself is a psyop, a prop, used to control your behavior.
0 ups, 5y
The article is full of contradicting conclusions that all state that further data is needed and this is worthy of further study. You’re citing a section that acknowledges if everyone isn’t wearing a mask (and SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDES an N95 or equivalent mask), then no one should wear a mask because it affects nothing.

The article also states in one study that virus transmission was reduced by >50% with a combination of face masks and hand hygiene.

If you want to politicize this and make it about personal freedom, that’s fine. It’s idiotic, but at least you’ve stated as such. But don’t cherry pick info. Be honest about your ignorance.

For someone who named themselves perspicacity, you’ve demonstrated none.
0 ups, 5y,

The CDC is staffed with scientists and doctors who trained for the majority of their lives and gets funded with billions every year to do the requisite research. You read a single article on some obscure website for Canadian dentists (I can google, too) and not even the entire article, just cherry picking whatever feeds into your BS narrative.

The irony here is if you put go to the main website: https://www.oralhealthgroup.com/oral-hygiene/
the first thing you see is a picture of a hygienist in goggles and a face mask. But irony is lost on the ignorant.

Wearing a mask presents another layer of defense, in addition to the bodies natural defenses. There are laws of physics that come into play: fluid dynamics, diffusion, etc. Face masks amplify the protection.

I’m assuming if you ever have to go into surgery, you’re going to insist no one in the operating room wear surgical masks...better hope no one sneezes, sparky.

Personally, I hope you do and I hope they all do.

Another arrogant "humanitarian" wishing harm on others, the sign of a true sociopath. Fraudulent "appeal to authority" with the CDC, which has repeatedly gotten it so wrong about covid, and which everyone knows has a massive conflict of interest for holding pharma patents. Try to keep up, sparky. The fact is masks cannot stop the transmission of sub-micron viruses. Surgical masks were never for the patient's benefit, lunkhead. Apparently you are stupid enough to think a surgeon would cough into a patient. Fluid dynamics! What a dolt!!!!
1 up, 5y,
1 reply
Face masks provide no protection. That is what you said. How am I wishing you harm then?

Can’t have it both ways, skippy.

And a surgeon or a nurse or an anesthesiologist can cough or sneeze into a sanitized room and infect everyone in the room.

Are you really this ignorant?
1 up, 5y
Facemasks do not prevent or slow the transmission of viruses. If you believe the CDC do you also believe Dr Fauci? In March 2020 he said the same thing.

No one cares about a cough or sneeze from a healthy person. They are not germ factories. Why would an ill person be working in an operating room, you dolt!
0 ups, 5y
So much stupidity to unpack...

“Facemasks do not prevent or slow the transmission of viruses. If you believe the CDC do you also believe Dr Fauci? In March 2020 he said the same thing.”

Fauci also said there wasn’t enough PPE available to provide the medical facilities‘ needs AND the general public’s needs so they held off on the recommendations. Science changes every single day. At one time, they believed the Earth was the center of the universe, but we LEARNED and evolved our understanding of the nature of things. The coronavirus is no different.

“No one cares about a cough or sneeze from a healthy person.”

So you’d be okay with a “healthy person” coughing or sneezing around you without, at the very least, covering their mouths? You’re a filthy liar if you answer yes.

“They are not germ factories. Why would an ill person be working in an operating room”

Again, science teaches us that the human body, is teeming with bacteria and germs and whatever other creepy crawlies you can think of...the mouth, in particular, being the most-riddled. This is common knowledge. One can also carry COVID-19 and be asymptomatic for upwards of two weeks (or may never get sick at all) but transmit the virus to others unknowingly...like sneezing or coughing in an elevator or a crowded room or a train...this is also common knowledge.

Hence, an “ill person” may never experience symptoms and never know they’re actually ill. This is all common knowledge. But your minutes of exhaustive googling has taught you otherwise.

You strike me as a wildly irresponsible moron.

Disingenuous. Anyone reading the article can clearly see that the "correction" only points out that some people disagree with Dr. Blaylock's original article. The correction makes zero changes to the substance of the original material. There is nothing to consider about whether PJ Media is reliable or not. It is mostly quotes from the original article (linked), with some text added so that it can run it as content and get ad revenue (aka how info business on the internet works).

Do you know how to read then?

Dr. Russell Blaylock, a neurosurgeon, says that:
1. 17 of the best studies were analyzed, “ None of the studies established a conclusive relationship between mask/respirator use and protection against influenza infection."
2. Face masks can make cancer, heart attacks, and strokes worse (from low oxygen and inflammation)
3. Increased chance of viral transmission to the brain (wearing a mask, the exhaled viruses will not be able to escape and will concentrate in the nasal passages, enter the olfactory nerves and travel into the brain)
4. Studies have found dangers from mask wearing....this can vary from headaches, to increased airway resistance, carbon dioxide accumulation, to hypoxia, all the way to serious life-threatening complications. It is known that the N95 mask, if worn for hours, can reduce blood oxygenation as much as 20%, which can lead to a loss of consciousness, as happened to the hapless fellow driving around alone in his car wearing an N95 mask, causing him to pass out, and to crash his car and sustain injuries.

Bet you never considered all the different medical situations people could face as you condescend on down from your ivory tower? Oh but he's only a neurosurgeon and you are a sharp-tongued dismissive memer.
1 up, 5y
Dr. Russell Blaylock is a bit of a lunatic who insists artificial sweeteners cause MS, the Soviet Union introduced STDs and drugs to the US and that Obama wanted to euthanize everyone.

Disengenuous twat. F**k you and your presumptive dictatorial arrogance. Masks are in fact not needed during operations/surgery, at least not for the patient's benefit. Operating theatres are already clean. F**k off for your condescension in implying that people don't know about germs and hands being a source of germ transmission. Everything has its details, any you certainly aren't the master of it, that much evidently clear. Your gross error in equating masks and gloves is proof enough.
