About those complaints, he should have been fired long before this point, but the democratic police union made it virtually impossible.

Okay, I,'ll drop affiliation issues to make my point. Police unions are bad because they prevent the firing of officers who deserve to be fired, and need to be fired.

And that's because they're Democrats?

I sincerely hope you shills get paid for this, I do.

Chief of Police Peter O'Leary, "But we can't fire Harry, he's a Democrat!"

I love this site.

Unions are typically Democrat, but I admitted that's beside the point. My point is that unions protect bad cops, and something should be done about that. Perhaps police unions should be abolished, or have no authority in beyond negotiating the initial contract.

Ran across this, thought it might be of interest:

Yet another shill just hopped on me but arguing against what YOU said.
This crap is frikkin hilarious.

Oh, an no. Unions do NOT require party affiliation still.

"You ain't union, Joe?"

"Naah, I ain't a registered Democrat"

That these autobots 'reflexively' have yet to notice that what I'm addressing is a hoot.

Oh yeah, I forgot, because unionz is Communist and Republican peons would prefer a return to getting paid a half dollar a day,,,

Why does it have to be either/or? Sometimes unions are necessary, useful and effective as a check on corporate power and a defense of workers' rights. Sometimes they are corrupt and a bigger problem than the corporations. Anyone ever hear of Jimmy Hoffa?

So what I was saying then?

Scroll up past me and OM and see who you meant to address that to.

Well now another Alt Rightie kneejerker is doing his waving his hands in the air while going in a circle round me monkey dance in response to, yup, you guessed it, what someone who isn't me said AFTER I pointed that out to you.

Damn, if it wasn't for KylieFan'sMom, this would be the funniest thing I've seen on this site this year.

Do carry on, and in the manner it was before.
I've got some stuff to take care of outside and look forward to a good read when I get back.

Party and politics is irrelevant. One human being unnecessarily killed another human being. The only person who should be blamed for the death is Derek Chauvin.

I agree. It *could* have been racially motivated, but there is no evidence of that race was a factor other than the fact that Floyd and Chauvin were different races.

It could have possibly been personal as well since they knew and worked with each other at the same bar.

Not necessarily a fact. Just speculating since we don't know what was going through Chauvin's mind.
2 ups, 4y
Why do you need to know what was going on in the mind of a murderer?

The guy who claimed they knew each other has retracted his story.

And the only place that should've been looted and the only building that should've been burned would've been that which was owned by that jerk

Don't believe that anything should be looted or burned. It just causes more problems than solves. Besides, other parties can get hurt, both financially, emotionally, or physically, through said looting or burning.

I'm just saying we need to stop coddling criminals... the guilty need to be punished and publicly.... in ancient times they would hang them from a beam taken from their own house and turn that house into a dung hill... i think that is appropriate.

If you never been arrested for a false charge that a bored cop made up you really have no idea how gestapo like it gets. And even if you are cleared you still have to pay for court costs etc. It is a system that is failing.

And yet police officers across the country are getting blamed for brutality. Why? Simply because of their profession and the actions of a few.
0 ups, 4y,

Don't disagree with you. It is a broad generalization. Just like not all protesters should be blamed for looting and causing violence.
0 ups, 4y,

The protesters may not be doing the looting and violence but they are enabling it by occupying law enforcement resources.

All it take is one dumbass gestapo cop to ruin an entire system it seems. Or two or three........ugh the number keeps going up at some point we have to take a look at cops being a money making enterprise for the City and Municipality that they work for. As long as they are there to make money it will continue to spiral into this mess and worse. There has to be oversight and if cops get more than one complaint in a month they should be taken off the job. Period.

Police is a money making enterprise? On the contrary, they are a very expensive service that, along with fire departments, consume the majority of city budgets.

Or if some Karen calls because your dog got out and you are tryna catch it and somehow animal control is called and they give you a bill for doing nothing and a cop called them. Oh how about charging you money to go to court to fight a false charge? Yeah they are there to make MONEY for the CITY don't kid yourself kid. Why five cops pull over at a traffic stop for something minor? Because they are BORED and looking to make a quick BUCK! Seriously. If you are white you are gonna get the ticket as a black man they know I am broke so I just have to worry about LIVING.

You seem to think cops get paid by the call or something like that. They get paid the same weather they sit at a school crossing or chase a violent criminal.

0 ups, 4y,

Prove they don't. That is the crux of the issue. I know they get in trouble if they don't write tickets or make money. They talk about it all the time.
0 ups, 4y
You know this how?
I know they don’t get paid by the call because I know actual police officers. You obviously don’t.

They are just exercising their First Amendment right of the Constitution of Freedom of Assembly and Petition. And we agree that it is truly their right, just as much as the 2nd amendment gives we the people the right to bear arms, correct? It's not their fault that others have hijacked their cause to do bad things.
0 ups, 4y
It may not be their fault but it’s still irresponsible. Once they see that their protest is being used as cover for people standing behind them throwing objects at the police, they need to break it up and so the police can go after the thugs without having to climb through a mass of protesters.
