This conversation has nothing to do with laws. It has to do with local schools having the right to decide what is best for children rather than a governor who doesn’t give a crap about them.
Fully agree with your last paragraph. Unfortunately with politics we are stuck in the middle of or pay the consequences of bad decisions. Additionally, here is some food for thought on how I think we should be able to fight back against a governors politically motivated decision.

If you look at the stats in the state of Florida at least, most of those in the middle of what you mentioned above are the ones who are causing the spread and hence the major problem. One would assume they just don’t care about COVID and/or getting vaccinated. Meanwhile Ron DeSantis is trying to profit off anti masking and anti Fauci merch to campaign off the coattails of Trump. This is not showing leadership, but rather an over grown frat boy mentality IMO.

Those individual decisions don’t just impact people in a vacuum. They could infect somebody else who is not vaccinated, like a child, or perhaps is vaccinated but still gets the variant. And then it continues to spread. That is not just an individual decision, but complete irresponsibility.
