and not all truck drivers have a lot of common sense either... A city deemed unsafe will have increased freight rates and only be serviced by scabs... rates will then escalate farther ... its a slick downhill slope

I too am a trucker. Your statement only applies to company drivers - not owner operators. Although owner operators only make up about 10% of Truckers - that's still quite a bit of freight. And yes, if cities became dangerous enough - they would in fact boycott an entire city. Because they are independent - they can pick their loads. They're not forced to go where they don't want to.

Also, Companies are given government safety ratings. If those ratings drop too low - those companies are put out of service. Secondly, even many companies will not send company drivers into a bad situation. We have monthly conference calls where I work where our manager regularly tells us if a location has even the appearance of being unsafe or dangerous - we're not going to be delivering there.

Lawsuits are a big thing for corporate trucking companies and so are insurance costs. They would have lawsuits left and right and have their insurance canceled in no time flat if they began delivering to unsafe locations. This is precisely why only certain companies will go South of the border into Mexico.

This is also to say nothing of the large corporations the looters stole from and burned down - many of whom have already said they're not going back to these ghetto dumps. When a Democrat destroys an area - that destruction is absolute.

This is what sowing 60 years of failed social policies and a racism narrative into the minds of minorities to get their vote, produces - A largely fatherless victim culture that thinks their only way of achieving upward financial mobility in life is if they take it by force, illegitimately.

No, I think most of the larger corporations who can weather this will come out better than the smaller businesses. Those are the ones I'm most concerned about. Especially those owned by black business owners who not only will suffer financial loss but alienated by people who claim to be supporting people like them. To fix this, perhaps BLM can raise money for those businesses effected by the crisis. I wonder if they will.

Some of those social policies have been useful in reforming members of society, like George Floyd, who seemed to have been turning his life around prior to his murder. I think undoing all social programs would be just as extreme as defunding or dismantling these police departments.

He is not. Even if he was high on drugs, that is no excuse for homicide. Considering he had remained out of jail for all of six years, I call that a success compared to how many who usually go back into the system. Even if he wasn't completely clean does not mean he deserved to die for his alleged crimes.

Floyd died from willful force. Not negligence. In fact, what amplifies his story to hero status is not George or the cops but the witnesses who had better sense than the trained professionals who caused his death. Had they had just listened to the civilians then, George Floyd might've been alive. That's not negligence. That's incompetence.

He may not have been the prettiest straw, but he was the one to break the back of the camel that has been hemorrhaging back problems for almost 50 years.

I'm willing to bet my life that if George Floyd was white, he wouldn't have been killed.
