Haha, that’s a woodworking dust mask ... about as much protection as breathing through a fishnet.

Hope this isn't premature, but indications are that it is leveling off in NY.

You too, be well.
Glad to hear she's ok.

I've been hunkered down, as my folks are elderly so don't want them catching it. Just a weekly trip to the stores and that's it.

New Yorkers are dumb, but look at who they elected as their "leader." A whiny bitch who f**ks up his state and then blames Trump for it.

Can't blame someone for going to work. I think this is a larger conversation on density vs urban sprawl. This city was designed to fail in an epidemic...never stood a chance.

"I think this is a larger conversation on density vs urban sprawl."

density is better. urban sprawl is when congress is lobbied to hell with building contractors trying to uphold the other form of economic stability in the united states: house building. houses that are too expensive for the poor so they don't solve homelessness, and they're a waste of environmental space. they also don't have sustainable transportation, with usually automobile the only way to go to and from work. compact cities, as a result, do a lot better competitively. usually they're smaller, transit oriented, and can occasionally use roads for bikes instead of cars.

Half the country's deaths are in one state. There's a colossal failure going on, much of it having to do with population density, some on bad leadership decisions, and even more on idiots not taking it seriously enough.

But not before epidemics. New York and other high density cities have suffered higher rates in every case. Cramming people together has benefits, but it also has drawbacks, not that they can't be mitigated...but there's no set plan as to how that should be done, and it get's changed based on political expediency.

Out of context Octavia_Melody, let me help you here, no one is arguing how old New York city is, when it was built is irrelevant to the argument of their piss poor choice of leaders then have because people there are too dumb to vote for better ones. You correct my grammar now and then, so I guess I should help you correct your direction of your posts since you do that a lot... you know, derailing it so that you can confuse people and make it look like you are winning the argument with something completely obvious but out of context. Hey, how are you, celebrating that Bernie is out?

Generally speaking, most people who live in NYC are not too bright. I'm not talking about the coronavirus per say, but in general. And this proves that Cuomo and Deblasio are full of shit every time they open their mouths.

That at least was spot on, those two massive bungholes just love to hear themselves whine.

You have got to be kidding, especially coming from a State oft cited as a prime example of heat killing brain cells?

btw, you ARE aware hospital admission rates have been dropping, the epidemic seems to have reached its peak while in more rural areas it is just starting to rise?
1 up, 5y,
1 reply
It's still rising in other rural states because of what is called "flattening the curve"
0 ups, 5y,
1 reply
No, flattening the curve is flattening the curve, the curve isn't rising if it's flattening.
0 ups, 5y
It seems to have peaked in NYC, while it hasn't in other states. This is what I was trying to say, but it kind of came out wrong. The infection rates are slower in rural areas because there are less people, but also, because of trying to flatten the curve, trying to get less people infected.

Okay. Which is it, conservatives? The virus is a hoax and everyone who thinks its real is a dumb-dumb head and we all just need to go back to work like normal OR the virus is real, people need to stay home, and only make very necessary trips while respecting social distancing?

No one has said the "virus" is a hoax. The virus is real. The claim of "hoax" has always been about the plan by democrats to maximize the crisis to their advantage by using it as yet another way to bash Trump. You may disagree, but you can have that conversation with the mirror. There's nothing to defend there.

Personally, I believe that a temporary shut down was a good idea to get hospitals better prepared and viable treatments available. Now that there is consensus among doctors globally that treatment is possible, most can go back to work while those deemed as high risk stay sheltered in place with some form of assistance.

No one said it? Putting Trump aside Fox News did in fact claim it was a Hoax just trying to give Trump a hard time.

Fox The Trump Network.

But in reality they are only doing it because they are making money of Trump Cult members who hang on their every word

Oh, you mean this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DmW_H4U-MI

It's a compilation of times Fox news called the coronavirus a hoax and not a big deal.

it even gives you dates when they said it, so you can go and verify that information.

No.
Not one out of context clip in that montage makes the claim that the virus is a hoax, but that the Democrats are using it to bash Trump. That has always been the claim. Its sad you had to produce a doctored video that leaves out the context of those comments to make your point.

Hannity, the main source of this little diatribe, has been consistent with his remarks saying this is the latest attempt by democrats to consolidate power and hang Trump. Their own comments make the case.

If Trump thought the virus was a hoax, he wouldn't have put together a Corona task force in January in the middle of the real hoax, a fraudulent impeachment.

If Trump thought the virus was a hoax he wouldn't have stopped all travel from China on January 31st, a move that prompted Democrats including Joe Biden, to call him xenophobic and racist. Two weeks after Trump banned travel, Pelosi was in Chinatown, telling people to come out and mingle...Who's really taking it seriously here? For every little talk show host you put up to make your silly point, I can put up Democrat leaders calling for people to go out in the streets where they can get infected.

The claim is that Trump called the virus a hoax. His actions prove otherwise. In fact, if he truly believed it was a hoax, he would've been doing the very things the Democratic leaders were doing, telling people to go out and ignore the warnings.

Trump has failed and botched the response to COVID-19 in every respect.

But none of it matters. You won't believe anything. The clip I provided is a perfect example- it literally starts with Hannity saying the virus is a hoax and you won't accept it.

You didn't watch the full episode, so you don't understand what he said. The virus itself has never been called a hoax. Everyone's actions prove that. Taking words out of context is what ya'll do best, so much so, you believe your own lies now. And if you think that Trump has failed, then I guess he should've just kept flights coming in like the Democrats wanted. That act alone is being credited with stopping this outbreak from killing millions, but Dems wouldn't have even done that...sad. Now Joe is even saying that he would've done the same thing...after he condemned it of course. He was against it, before he was for it...Typical politician there.

A group of people could physically force you to watch the video and full blast and you would deny it. And call it fake news

So even though I could do it there is no point. Trump cult members such as yourself do not care about facts, morality or integrity.

As for shutting up??? I don't think so. In fact don't you feel even a little stupid thinking you have some magical power to tell people what to do HAHAHAHA

But it IS a rabid cult.

I don't even get it, Reagan at least had that fatherliness to him, that stern when needed yet affable when he must persona. Sure it was fake (OOH COWBOY RON INVADED GRANADA AND HE ENDED THE USSR BY TELLING GORBACHEV TO TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!), but it wasn't a hyperventilated caricature of cringe for meth heads in every way down to the most horrible coif and facepaint of the sort only seen in comedies, and none are even THIS bad. It's like Idiocracy but directed by 2nd graders on the short yellow bus with leftover crayons and crusty Brillo.

Anyways, I'm convinced reality isn't real, so I'm in this for the laughs.
