"Suicide attempts among trans men (46%) and trans women (42%) were slightly higher than the full sample (41%) of all non-gender conforming adults"

The American Academy of Pediatrics also came up with roughly the same numbers. In their report, they state

"Female to male adolescents reported the highest rate of attempted suicide (50.8%), followed by adolescents who identified as not exclusively male or female (41.8%)."

These are not my studies and I am not a psychiatrist so I would be remiss in stating what the underlying cause is.

I am just presenting the fact that transgenders have an extremely high attempted suicide rate of around 41% vs. .0042% for the rest of the population.

Since we know that transgenderism is a mental disorder, it could be a result of the underlying mental illness coupled with the delusion of thinking you're something you're not and never can be.

And yet Trans people have such self awareness that an above average number of them decide to end themselves, good one.

Yes, they are different. Thinking you are something you're not is a mental disorder while knowing there are only two genders is a scientific fact.
