Will be funny when IDing the illegals allows Ice to locate and deport them.
2 ups, 5y
Of course this would help ICE in identifying illegals and arresting them. It is a serious crime for foreigners to vote in our elections. Isn’t that what all the impeachment hearings are about genius?

because it costs up to $1,000 to get voter id and a lot of poor, which is demographically more black, dont have $1,000 laying around

That is a lie. There is no place in this country where it costs up to $1,000 to obtain a voter ID. I guarantee that anyone spreading that lie is a Democrat.

i made a mistake it was up to $175 which is still pretty bad seeing as theyre putting a three digit price on one's *right* to vote

I guarantee that any citizen of this country who wants to register to vote can do so completely free of charge simply by contacting their local Republican or Democrat party representatives and they would be completely happy to provide that assistance completely free of all charges.

If they don’t have any ID, how did they register to vote in the first place?

Protecting the integrity of the election process is not an extraneous requirement. The only folks who fight against that are the ones who want to cheat the system - always Democrats.

So, when you’re required to present ID when you resister to vote, isn’t that a poll tax? The whole burden of ID requirement argument is bogus . . . Unless you think voters should never have to show ID at any point in the process.

*register

Theoretically you can just as easily present ID to register to vote in other forms, such as a birth certificate.

However, most of these “Voter ID” laws make the point of requiring a *photo* ID such as a drivers’ license to be presented at the polling station. Which a birth certificate is not.

People lose or misplace their drivers’ licenses all the time. I did the other day, and it took me a few days to get into the DMV, a couple hours out of my day and about $25 to get a replacement.

Trivial investments of time and money to me but not all are as fortunate.

Interesting how such identification is essential for obtaining vital social services, employment, and housing, yet it’s an undue burden to vote.

Voting is a bedrock constitutional right. Those other things are vital, but not a right necessarily.

That’s like saying we can’t require background checks on people who buy guns because the right to bare arms is a constitutional right.

“Well-regulated militia” language allows you to do that with respect to guns, in my opinion. Voting is not a dangerous activity.

Safeguarding the integrity of our elections should be just as important as ensuring everyone is able to exercise their right to vote. Unfortunately many people would rather turn a blind eye to voter fraud under the guise of ensuring poor people aren’t burdened by the need for a basic tool they use every day.

Maybe, rather than opposing laws to protect against voter fraud, we should put that effort toward ensuring all eligible voters can be verified at the polls. Since voting is a bedrock constitutional right, and welfare isn’t, we should divert some of the money given for welfare to help pay for IDs that the poor can use at the ballot box.

Some liberals think minorities are too dumb to get ID cards. How racist is that?!? If you Do think that, you should watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrBxZGWCdgs

So there's a voter roll. How do you know this hispanic dude Miguel Antonio Gonzalez Vasquez is really him, on the roll? Or some random dude?

Oh, that's right. ID. That's what it's there for. To make sure the correct person's vote is accounted for.
