no real person wants to ban guns. what moderate liberals really want is some measures taken so that citizens can have guns, but no gun ends up in the hands of criminals in the first place.

However, boomer conservatives twist that because the boomer generation has been shaped by lobbyists secretly manipulating the government, hoping their business grows, no matter who gets the gun. Also, the legacy media that boomers claim to not trust is pointing cameras at the most extreme cases of leftism.

That may be what you want or claim that you want, but the laws that are passed and proposed - all of them - target the law-abiding citizen, and do nothing to keep the gun away from criminals. The only exception is the background check, which actually checks if the person purchasing a firearm is not a convicted felon.

It is a rarity. Over 80 million law-abiding citizens. A dozen bad ones don't create a situation that disproves the theory. Unless of course you're an anti-vaxer, then you think that tens of millions of successes are negated by a few dozen bad reactions.
