I'm not a boomer, but I do blame some violence and crime on certain games like GTA. You play a criminal who runs around killing / assaulting people various ways. From running over pedestrians to beating prostitutes with bats to shooting cops and speeding to a pay n spray to clear your "wanted level", the game is full of violence.
Some people blames games like Modern Warfare and Black Ops where you are a first person shooter. But in those games you are a soldier fighting enemy soldiers. In GTA you are a criminal free to wreck havoc however you want.
I am not saying games like GTA is solely to blame for violence as I believe there may be many reasons, but it can not be denied that games like GTA normalizes violence. It desensitizes people to real crime and violence.
