This is probably the most retarded thing I have seen lately. It was defeated by REGULATION and now is not much of a problem. The ozone layer hole would be a good example of why we should ban things to help stop climate change.

From the NIH:
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are a group of odorless manufactured chemicals. Because they damage the earth’s ozone layer, CFCs have been banned since 1996. Before CFCs were banned, they were used in aerosols, refrigerators, air conditioners, foam food packaging, and fire extinguishers.

From what I remember it was a HUGE THING and these chemicals were supposed to work continuously as a catalyst to break down ozone. What was worse is that they take years to get up into the ozone layer and then they last forever!

So... indeed, you'd think we'd still be experiencing a problem....

But thanks to international efforts we managed to reduce Ozone breakdown and the Ozone layer has begun to recover. Time to replicate those efforts and march against Climate Change

You do know climate change can't actually be stopped and is a natural part of the planet's climatic cycle, right? We're currently still in the tail end of the last ice age, that's why we still have polar ice caps.

The only real question is whether, or how much, humans are affecting the /rate/ at which climate change occurs.

"You do know climate change can't actually be stopped and is a natural part of the planet's climatic cycle, right?"

Of course. Climate Change has existed for longer than Humans

"The only real question is whether, or how much, humans are affecting the /rate/ at which climate change occurs."

But exactly this is the problem. We are directly effecting Natural Climate Change by making the Atmosphere "Thicker" so to say and letting Heat in, but stopping heat from leaving. Thats why its called Greenhouse Effect. And we an already see its effect, from the melting of the Ice Poles to more extreme Weather conditions. Just last year Germany suffered an unseen heatwave that cause 3 billion Euros in damage to the Agricultural Sector.

You may want to read some of the newer research.

A report was just released by a Finnish Team. that says mankind has had very little effect on climate. The report was also verified by Kobe Univ. in Japan. At the same time, a report came out of Italy that says basically the same thing.

There are more and more scientists who are questioning the models used by the IPCC. So far, not one of the IPCC models has been accurate in predicting climate change. Every prediction the models have made have been proven wrong.

Of course, the UN and the IPCC are questioning the Finnish and Italian reports and the media is not giving it much coverage. Follow the money.

Or or maybe... there a simply more reports proving climate change and focusing on the minority would be bad. *I know its an outlandish theory, but it might be crazy enough to be true!* (Sarcasm in **)

Al Gore. You know, Inventor of the Internet . . .
He also did “An Inconvenient Truth” and is a strong advocate for carbon credits.

Well, since we took steps to fix the problem...the problem is going away. It should be completely healed by 2050.

Imagine what else we could fix if we actually took steps to fix the problem? Like all of us. At the same time.
