Wasn't being under audit the reason he allegedly couldnt release his tax returns? Did they finish or was his "I'm being audited" story BS?

idk. maybe there's nothin there but here's the basic timeline as far as I know:
1. He said he'd release his tax returns if he decided to run for president.
2. He does run and says oh ya we're working on releasing them.
3. He says he can't release them because he's under audit.. but will release them once the audit is completed.
4. He tells some reporter the American public doesn't care about my tax returns... I won. I became president...
5. His latest statement: maybe I'll release them once I'm out of office.
How long is he gonna kick that can down the road? If there's nothing there why not release them and prove it?

If he did anything wrong, the IRS would seize his stuff right? How long could he kick the can down the road? BHO's college tuition records have been sealed a long while so i would guess at least as long? Philip J Berg Democrat even sued to see them, went to supreme court . One thing you have to understand about Trump is, he is a lil bit of a troll. He may be using the Tax returns as bait. like playing poker.. Remember when he announced a press conference about "urgent info on BHO's birth" and he trolled the media? he got millions of dollars worth of free advertising. so maybe the tax thing is another troll/bait to be used at a later date? just an idea.

So basically.. best case scenario as far as his tax returns is: the president has been trolling the American public for years.

I didnt say he wasnt. Phil berg did, I brought him up because you asked how long can a potus kick the can down the rd of sorts and BHO did it for decades.

Did BHO ever lie about it? It seems every step of Trump's comments regarding it has been a lie.

Nixon released his taxes while being audited and had absolutely no problem. The IRS publicly confirmed that there's nothing stopping you from releasing your tax return during an audit. So yes, that is the reason he gave but it wasn't a good reason (and led to questions of "wait, so why are they auditing you? That's suspicious") so he stopped talking about it pretty quickly.

I haven't heard that they are related to each other. But nothing would surprise me at this point - the man is one big walking red flag of dishonesty that everything he does could relate to any ongoing investigation.

What are you talking about? He has never disclosed his tax return. Rachel Maddow got his 2005 one and the New York Times got his 1995 one but that's 14 years of tax that we - by which I also mean you - know nothing about.

Meanwhile, going back to the OP, EVERY POLITICIAN DISCLOSES THEIR TAX RETURNS BUT HIM, negating the OP's complaint.

taxes are taxes are theft, who cares if its 1995 or 2005, he paid more on the ones they found. Meaning its a good chance he also did on the latest ones.

I wouldnt disclose my returns, because why would I care?
they are returns, as in the govt is trying to give back money they stole from you, so technically tax returns show criminal activity the govt commits.

There's a lot to unpack there, but look - if I were Trump's campaign adviser and he confided in me that he's been charitably overfunding the government revenue beyond his fair share for fifteen years straight, my reaction would be "jeepers on a bicycle, don't keep THAT a secret! That's electoral gold right there - nobody would be able to question your altruism ever again!!"

So either that's not what's happening at all (which is clearly the case, frankly) or Trump has the worst most inept political advisers who ever lived - which, in fairness, is also quite fitting to what we know.
