Roll Safe Think About It Meme | YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T PAY TAXES | image tagged in memes, roll safe think about it | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Charitable contributions are tax deductible.
Say you make $99,000 (pre tax) and your tax rate is 33% (for arguments sake) so you take home ABOUT $66,000 (no deductions)

Well you can "donate" money to charities/non-profits/churches and that money comes off your taxable income. So say youdonate 10,000 to a church. You are now taxed on $89,000 not $99,000

So no....that income (the donated part) is literally NOT taxed specifically.

I paid about $70,000 in federal income tax last year. AFTER donations.

Charity is tax deductible, which merely means that if we are charitable, we pay proportionally LESS in taxes. It is still our disposable income that we donate. Tax savings aren't higher than the money we contributed.

But that money donated IS NOT taxed (as per your Gene Wilder meme indicated.)
That premise is false.

People donate money to charities to (among other altruistic reasons) AVOID paying taxes on it. Plain and simple. Sometimes it CAN be a huge difference. Here, lemme learn ya something:

Say you make $157,500. That's your TAXABLE income. You will pay $50,400 of that in federal taxes (32%)
You keep: $107,100

Now say you DONATE $1000 to a church. Your TAXABLE income is now $156,500 (24% bracket) so you pay $37,560 in federal taxes.
You keep: $118,940

So for donating $1000 you KEEP $11,840 you would have paid in taxes.

How does giving $1000 save you $11,840

Please don't teach me how taxes work, I'm quite aware. I was however, incorrect in suggesting that it would always be less in savings than in contributions, there are indeed cases of that not being the case - as you illustrated.

People would rather donate to charity than pay taxes. The tax code was designed with this in mind because US is the only country smart enough to realize that society benefits more from charitable organizations than government programs. This is not something that needs to change and definitely something that needs to be understood.

You are not as aware as you should be. Stop thinking you know stuff when clearly you don't. That's the hallmark of a close minded idiot. You don't wanna be one of those, do ya?

Most Trump supporters are such. SOMETIMES...JUST SOMETIMES they see the light. When THEY themselves are effected by something they claim to have understood (and usually disagreed with b/c someone else benefited from it.)

calling me names after I admitted you were right on one of your points is a sign of a bitter person and unhappy person. Sometimes when you're unhappy, it isn't others, it's YOU.

I didn’t call you any names I said you don’t want to be that do you? Sorry if your feelings got hurt.

Dude, why say shit and deny it? What is this habit of trying to weasel out of your own words? My "feelings" are just fine, I just regret when a normal conversation turns into a troll-fest.

You seem angry. I’m not weaseling out of anything. Have a swell day.
1 up, 6y
I have nothing to be angry about. Angry people call others "close minded idiot", make general statements about "most Trump supporters". You went from sounding intelligent to sounding like a typical internet troll, and I only have interest in talking with the former.

God needing money isn't the problem. It's His self-appointed underlings who CLAIM that He needs the money as they stuff it into their own pockets.

Why does any organization that meets 501(c)(3) tax exemption qualification need money? It’s not a “religious” exemption.

I love this idiot language, "cost" like it's the Government's money in the first place. Almost as stupid as saying we can't "pay" for tax cuts.

Actually no. Just substitute "German" for "idiot". You wouldn't say German's language, but rather the German language.

Ok, I'll play.

Thing is, "this" is not "the," as any idiot (or German) knows.

Oops.

God needs money because in order to operate in a world that uses money he's got to have some. Can't build a church or serve milk and cookies at a get together without spending a few dollars. You can't get any gas to drive to disaster zones without paying for it. You can't fly missionaries to third world countries without buying a plane ticket....etc

Yup. Did you think he was just going to levitate people across the ocean? That kind of display would defeat the purpose of agency and free will. Faith would be pointless if we all knew he was real. God wants faith, not knowing.

You have a lot of misconceptions about who and what God is.

Who says God couldn't?

Care to pick a miracle you'd like to discuss?

God doesn't want ignorant people if that's what you're implying. God doesn't judge based on knowledge. God judges based on faith in him. I know God is real but that doesn't mean I'll go to heaven anymore than Satan would. Satan lacked faith and was cast out of Gods kingdom. I have to repent and display unyielding faith to be excepted into Gods kingdom.
