Trivializing evil things, straight from page 1 of the regressive leftist playbook.

So when conservatives do the same thing...

And please do not that I didn't say "liberals", I said "regressive leftist". You're the one who immediately made that connection.

By comparing liberals/leftists to Nazis, by comparing gay activists to Nazis, by comparing gay activists to slave owners, etc. Conservative Christian Bryan Fischer has done all these things.
reply

To be fair, not nearly as prevelant on the right as the left. It's wrong coming from both sides, but with the left, it's pretty much standard practice by almost everyone.

I work with a guy that's the same way. Calls everyone he disagrees with, Hitler or Hitler-like. And he's not on the leftist fringe.
reply

You may be correct as far as it coming more from the left, but I'm not positive.

I've never heard of the gay comparisons, and that's a bit ridiculous. Especially since gays (men at least) are losing their oppression cred because, despite being gay, they're still "cis scum with p**ises".

As for comparing liberals/leftists to nazis, I've heard that occasionally too, and the way they're going, it's not really that hard to imagine. A group of people pretending to be a leftist-socialist group vilifying another group as the cause of all problems (white males = jews), trying to dictate what people can and cannot say or do, and trying to take away private weapons so the people can't fight back when they fully take power.

Is that really a thing? Oppression cred? I'm not cool b/c i'm not oppressed? WTF!

It's one of a few terms used to describe the idea that a homeless white man with mental health problems is still more privileged than Barack Obama.

Your comparisons of liberals to Nazis is a real stretch
reply
0 ups, 1 reply
Well, that's certainly not a resounding denial though, now is it?
reply
0 ups, 1 reply
The denial was clearly implied. Just to make sure, however: no, that comparison is absurd and false.
reply
0 ups, 2 replies
No, calling it "a stretch" implies at most that it's "unlikely, but not impossible". And which part, exactly, is absurd and false? Because that's exactly what I see happening.
reply
0 ups, 1 reply
So one crazy person says something crazy, and suddenly all liberals think like that? Hardly.
0 ups
Yeh, hardly.
reply

Liberals aren't going around with government support rounding people up and putting them in ghettos, or shopping them off to extermination camps

Almost all mainstream media organizations are owned by big corporations that want to make money. What makes them the most money? Engagement. What makes people engaged? Conflict. That why you see all these taking heads in all the networks trying to out-stupid each other.

They want everyone in America at each other's throats. Riots in the streets makes for damn good television.

Very true, but most of the msm is actually controlled by the same shareholders.

These are the same shareholders that own majority shares in the same healthcare companies that backed Obamacare. The same shareholders that own the biggest shares in the Federal Reserve. Follow the money and see what the real political agenda is.

If these companies dictate a political party's agenda and actively pursue crushing the opposing political party through propaganda, scandals, and physical force using both citizen and government agencies (Antifa, FBI), wouldn't that make them actual fascists?
reply
2 ups, 1 reply
Yeah, I'm not buying any of that. I will eat my own shorts if you have a single shred of evidence for that conspiracy theory.

reply

So you believe that: shareholders in big media companies are secretly working to destroy the US from within by dictating the Democratic political agenda, subverting the FBI, and paying antifa to be dicks in the streets. Is that correct? Do you hear yourself?

Good, WaPo is good stuff.

What makes you think that I support antifa tactics? Black Bloc was pissing me off over a decade before right-wingers had heard of antifa. Their agenda was destruction and anarchy. Not my thing. Again, though, this is whatabouting. The topic is: parallels between Donald Trump and Hitler, and there are some that should be very disturbing for all of us.

Here is Mike Godwin discussing his own law in relation to Trump. Worth a read. https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2015/12/14/sure-call-trump-a-nazi-just-make-sure-you-know-what-youre-talking-about/?utm_term=.2584746e4eb2

True and fair enough - On the flip side, one must not be unable to recognize the type before it becomes concentration camps or even close -

But the most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly and with unfiagging attention. It must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over. Here, as so often in this world, persistence is the first and most important requirement for success.

Just about everyone with a cause thinks they're doing the right thing. Despite what some would have you believe, there are few, if any, true "moustache twirlers". People don't do evil just for the sake of being "evil", they truly believe what they're doing is morally and ethically justified, and that the people who disagree with them are the ones who are doing wrong.

Either that, or they realize what they're doing is evil, but they still feel morally righteous because "the ends justify the means".

The sad part is, those who think they're morally right will believe that this only applies to their opponents.
