True. How abut enforcing existing laws before writing new ones.

Or not write more laws that will do nothing to curb the violence. But hey, I'm all for not allowing the mentally unstable to own a gun. Maybe we should focus on helping them with their mental problems and not focus so much on pushing more worthless gun laws.

Legalize murder, rape and child molestation? You're comparing that to the 2nd amendment? Not really the same thing.

Did you not read my comment and his comment? I didn't say the 2nd amendment is a crime.

So why did you bring it up? It's unrelated to the comment.

Is the knee-jerk NRA/2nd Amendment response mandatory? If that is literally the ONLY response every single time to the topic of MURDER even when it doesn't even fit, not only does it not further the already bogus position, it weakens it. The constant echo turns into static turns into a hum turns invisible. It's a disingenous slight of hand distraction and deflection meant to put others on the defensive - trying to turn the subject of violence into one about the Constitution - and it's rather boring and played out.

Not to mention it leads to the obvious conclusion is that if THAT'S the root, then by golly, amend the damn amendent and be done with it already. It's just such a contradictory self-destructive point.

He's trolling you by intentionally misinterpreting what you said in a way that no person with any intelligence could interpret it. That or he is a complete idiot and I'm surprised could manage to type a sentence.

See, now you're getting deliberately silly, as opposed to unintentionally so.
Both the meme comment and your reply are here for all to see.

So either you're a shamelesly bad at readjusting reality, or just not capable of correctly percieving it.

I'm bored, I'm done.

Nope, the gun didn't do it. The reason those people are dead is because somebody wanted them dead. Case in point, the guy who drove a car into a restaurant. Are you blaming the car?

A gun is an inanimate object like a car, a baseball bat, or a knife. They don't become weapons until someone makes them into weapons.

It must suck to be as obviously challenged as you are.

the gun lobby is too powerful. Many shootings happen when a person gets another's gun. But this country has had the tech to make hand print guns, that only work when the registered user is using it. But the gun lobby wont let them. I'd tell you to look it up, but you'd just call it all fake news.

NYC, 9/11/2001. Look that one up on your CNN app.

But it is adorable that your sacred NRA brainwashed you into lumping terrorists with your exception that proves the rule, since those acts would be more frequent in Europe if firearms were readily available.
Do you think they should be armed with gunz too?

Oh wait, did I say think? Never mind.

EXACTLY! U.K., France, Germany, Australia even! U.K. only had one, and almost removed guns entirely!
0 ups, 7y
The irony is that Mr Eldershite cited PROOF that gun control works, since they had to opt for a truck instead.

When comparing the frequency as well as the average tallies of gun vs vehicle, as well as knives, bombs, and water balloons while he's at it, and the numbers show why the weapon of choice is guns when available, because strangely enough, guns can do what guns are made to do. Who woulda thunk?

I think too many kids these days are desensitized to violence and feel no remorse for others. So, when they decide life is not worth living, it’s not enough to take your own life. Ya gotta copy or out do the last mass shooter on the news.

Israel had some school shootings in the 70's. After that teachers were trained with firearms and allowed/required (not sure which) to have them in their classrooms. There's been less than 10 shootings since then and the teachers put down the baddies.

There will always be bad people and violence. The solution is to fight back, not to tell them to stop and hope they listen.

You expressly used England as an example about how 'Gun Control' Works... and you're right "No One gets Shot" but people are still dying, if you're going to say we need to take guns to reduce Crime...

Then the fact that Gun-less Crime is still of the charts in the UK is a Valid rebuttal, because it Proves that violent people with the intent to do harm will still do so regardless of the weapon they use to do it...

What good is taking the guns of otherwise law abiding citizens if the Criminals are still going to do violence, against a now unarmed populace...

What you are referring to is London - NOT England - having more murders than NYC earlier this year. Don't know if that trend conntiued.

One trend that is continuing is the amazing drop in murder & other violent crimes in NYC - just decades ago THE baddest place on Earth - now the safest big city in America.

Strict gun control, a no questions asked gun buyback program, changes in police methodology, and social intervention implemented since the 1960s have done their part.

In the meantime in London, the opposite. Extensive budget cuts have caused police to not even SHOW UP when called for non 'major' crimes, including violence with knives. As long as people ain't severely hurt or killed, much was ignored. This was expected to worsen, however the shocking recent trends and resulting outcry & emabarrassment have caused a change in policy regarding investigation and also more pro active social intervention, you know, like what worked in New York City.

In terms of laonsite's charts, there seems to be some curious correlation througout the ENTIRE planet with the level of gun ownership and the crimes committed by those very guns. Big mystery, huh?

The other shows that proud to be gun totin' Texans in Houston sure are deflecting less crimes than the less armed populace of New York, in fact, again, as in the first chart, high gun ownership numbers and high gun crime numbers seem to have a mysterious connection there as well.

Damn, I shoulda studied my maffs harder.

Palestine gets to eat shit and they better have a smile on while they swallow it. That's the price they pay for allying themselves with the Nazi's in the hope that the German war machine would commit genocide for them after the war was over.

We can start by being better and tougher parents and raising our kids right during their "formative years". We didn't have school shootings back after the second world war. Why? We knew that if we got out of line, our dads would whack the living shit outta us! I'm a baby boomer that wasn't afraid to use tough love to teach my kid to respect guns. Today, he follows the TEN COMMANDMENTS OF GUN SAFETY and knows them better than I do!

I can only offer my opinion. Yes, there are mentally ill people, but US society appears to be more effective at producing them. There have always been crazy people, and guns have been around for hundreds of years. School shootings are relatively recent phenomenon. Find the bridge between them and 'blow it up.' Here's a hint: enforce gin laws already on the books and stop allowing kids unrestricted access to violent content. That's an abbreviated version, but no one signed up for me to give the full lecture ;)

Were you going to try the 'violent video games' caused this routine rather than the easy access to guns.. shame on you, this has been debunked so many times. In Europe, Japan, Aus, NZ, Korea they play the same violent video games but have zero mass shootings.
0 ups, 7y,
1 reply
Simple cause and effect is for pre-schoolers. There are many factors involved in most outcomes. Unrestricted exposure of children and adolescents to violent content on tv, in movies, on the internet, and yes, violent video games is a factor. The ubiquity and acceptance of violent content is densensitizing and dehumanizing. That's one factor. Were you going to try the 'school shootings are due to easy access to guns' routine? Because there was easier access to guns before school shootings ever happened.
0 ups, 7y,

Research has shown time and time ago that there is no link but yes easy access to guns leads to mass shootings and dead kids, like in this case.

Well I guess you can forget scientific reasoning, evidence based research and just put your faith in God, but then again he is not doing a good job on the dead kids front in America, well unless that is part of his plan...
0 ups, 7y
Scientific reasoning and evidence-based research are not one sided. They are subject to tremendous bias and political manipulation. Since you mention God (I don't know why), research is not an incontrovertible message from God.
