I remember when I was younger, some kid wouldn't stop bugging me--came up to me every day and called me names... so naturally, one day, I kicked him as hard as I could in the shin. Unfortunately, I was an eight year old who was barely over 40 lbs, so I don't think I did much damage.

If my niece ever finds herself in a similar situation, I hope she does the same. Too often, violence is the only counter that a bully will respect.

Personally, as a female, i don't think it should matter if the bully is a boy or girl. If a girl thinks it's okay to bully someone else, she deserves to get smacked by the person she's bullying. My reasoning is she wouldn't have gotten smacked if she wasn't bullying him to begin with. After a certain age though, they should probably find an alternative to smacking the other to solve the problem. 8 year olds punching each other, not that bad. 16 year olds...pretty bad.

Coming from a guy who usually bullied the bullies, once I'd had enough of their shit? I commend you. My kids will never provoke a fight; they will end them. Knowing when to fight, and when not to; that's teaching them properly how to fight.

When I was in 2nd Grade, a older girl took advantage of my kindness by making me buy her lunch w/ the lunch money my mom provided me. Instead of getting in her face, I told the principal and she was banned from talking to me for the year.

Wow. She deserved to be punished a bit more than that, don't you think for depriving you of your lunch?

I don't know how else she was punished. I also went to a school for people with learning and mental disabilites in middle school, and one time, the police showed up because a student with autism threw a chair at the teacher

so if a boy punches a girl that is bullying him he gets punished? wow. i'm probably the only girl that is not gay and doesn't support this. i DEFINETELY have hope for our generation.
