[3 of 4] Opposite of Christian prayer, Hindu meditation is inwardly focused on one's own spirit, claiming it will gain self-awareness for those practicing it. What does the Bible say about that? Are we supposed to focus on ourselves? No! Romans 8:5-6, tells us to deny ourselves because focusing on the flesh only leads to death, while using our minds to pray to God in a conversation, leads to life and peace. So, meditation is nothing at all like biblical prayer. "Those who practice transcendental meditation are setting their minds on their own spirit, looking within themselves in order to transcend themselves, rather than on the Spirit of God. Searching one's own mind—or emptying one's mind of all thought—may result in numbness or a temporary escape from reality, but...cannot bring true [and lasting] peace.” What meditation will do is get you into an altered state of consciousness, (literally, a hypnotic state), making you highly suggestible to spiritual realms that you do not want to mess with. As you read it, keep in mind the Hindu false teachings about chanting mantras to supposedly attain perfect health and wealth. These false teachers really like to flip out when people say anything negative like the fact that we might feel a bit sick today. Their admonishment of us would go something like this: "Don't say that! You’ll make yourself sick! Don't you realize your words have power?"; But all that hype is just Hindu beliefs reflected in the behavior of the followers of Hinduism, New Age, and the Word of Faith movement. The latter is actually in the Christian Church. Here’s Marilyn Hickey: "Say to your body, 'You're whole, body! Why, you just function so beautifully and so well...you never have any problems. You're a strong, healthy body.' Or speak to your leg, or speak to your foot, or speak to your neck, or speak to your back.”
She might want to speak to a psychiatrist! I'm sorry, but this stuff is just crazy. She continues:
"Speak to your wife, speak to your husband, speak to your circumstances;
and speak faith to them to create in them. And God will create what
