HOW DO WE WITNESS TO THOSE STUCK IN THE NEW AGE MOVEMENT? As with any witnessing, we first need to get equipped by learning about New Age. Then, instead of trying to win a debate, love them to Jesus. And because it’s a spiritual battle, we must pray God's Spirit removes the scales from their eyes, as well as the hardness from their heart. Keep it simple, always avoiding Christianeez jargon like, "washed in the blood,” “glorified,” “sanctified,” “justified,” and “deep fried." Focus on points like the Bible as our source of authority. Ask what theirs is. Talk about the nature of God, the personal work of Jesus, the nature of man, and the means of salvation. Specifically for New Agers, focus on the fact that God is personal because a person caught in New Age can have a whole new experience; an intimate, loving, and beautiful relationship with the One and only God—the actual Creator of the Universe. Many in New Age have Hinduistic beliefs that advocate a Star Wars-type universal force, while others are as trapped in a Buddhist mindset; an atheistic outlook that claims our end will be us passing into nothingness. But the great news is how that is completely wrong! God is not just some force. He’s real and every one of us can have a personal relationship with Him. We need to emphasize that because New Agers think creation is the great unknown, so they do not have the joy, knowledge, and experience of a personal Jesus. And opposed to what New Age teaches, Jesus Christ is not one of their avatars like Buddha or Muhammad. Instead, Christ is absolutely unique and radically different, being the One and only God who is fully God and fully man. Unlike the risen Christ who died for you, me, and all humans, we can visit Buddha, Muhammad, and or the great confused one (Confucius), whose bodies still reside in their graves because they did nothing to help with our salvation.
