ARE WE BACK AT THE TOWER OF BABEL?
Genesis 11:1: "Now the whole world had one language and a common speech."
Hey, that is actually being repeated today. Sometimes
people send us e-mails at Sunrise Bible Church
and Get A Life Media with wording that makes me
squint my eyes and think, "What language is that?"
I'm wondering if maybe it's from a satellite of
Russia or possibly a Portuguese dialect because it
doesn't look exactly like Spanish. But either way,
these days all we have to do is cut and paste
the sentence into an Internet translation
website and it instantly becomes readable. So, our language barriers are going away and mankind is again becoming united in our communications; this time for another type of rebellion. I wonder who will lead this one. The answer to that, as you've probably already come up with, is the Antichrist. | image tagged in translate, language, bible, god, antichrist, jesus | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

ARE CHRISTIANS TO BLAME FOR THE CRUSADES AND THE SALEM WITCH TRIALS? [3 of 3] The New Testament has another example of the New Covenant as it is applied to witchcraft. Acts 8 talks about how Simon the Sorcerer was not stoned by Peter, but only rebuked. If we're still supposed to kill witches, as the Old Testament prescribes under the Old Covenant, then why didn't Paul, or Petter, do that? It's because the death penalty was Old Testament civil law. God's moral law with the Ten Commandments is in force for all time with its prescriptions for a certain moral character. But the civil, priestly, and dietary laws are for the Jewish nation; not the Christian Church. So, those people meting out the sentences at the witch trails were wrong to do what they did. They misapplied Old Testament passages to say those punishments are still applicable in this Church Age. And that's a whole other can of worms with many religions today still attempting to enforce that outdated Old Testament covenant, which does not apply to Christians. They try to bring those laws into today with all their legalism and they cite the Bible as their proof text. But, again, they are talking
about the Old Covenant that is not for us Christians today. | image tagged in witch, trials, salem, christian, god, bible | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

ISN’T ETERNAL DAMNATION A BIT OVERKILL?
It does not seem to make sense from man's point of view but consider what God might be thinking. Here stands God on the day of creation as he says, "All you stars move yourself to these places, start in this order, and move in a circle exactly as I tell you until I give you another word." And they all obey Him. Then he says, "Planets pick yourself up , whirl, and make this formation at My command until I give you another word." He looks at the mountains and says, "Be lifted up." They obey Him. He tells valleys, "Be cast down." They obey Him. He looks at the sea and says, "You will come this far and no more." The sea obeys. Then He looks at you and says, "Come." But you say, "No!" This is why hell is not overkill. Do you have any idea how wicked our rebellion against God is? Everything in the world obeys Him except us. Who do we think we are? Hell isn’t overkill. It has to exist just as long as a Righteous God exists. Why? It's because only eternal punishment can suffice for sins against an eternal God. Besides, without eternal separation there could be no heaven. Why? Because
evil cannot exist in heaven; otherwise, it would cease to be heaven! | image tagged in heaven, hell, god, christian, eternity, obey | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Sin Obliterated (This is cool!)

Not only can Christians relax in total peace because God has cleansed us of all sin, but when God says He will remember our sins no more, the Hebrew word used is, "obliterated." Our sins have been eradicated out of existence. Forgetting them was enough but, praise God, there is nothing left of them!!

With that in mind, in Philippians, Paul says to look at it this way:

"I forget what lies behind and run swiftly toward what's ahead.”

What was ahead for Paul (and is ahead for us), was the prize he could lay at Jesus’ feet. He strove heavenward at the task Christ had for Him. In the Greek, the word used for ”forget” is to the point of "oblivion."; There it is again! God says He obliterates any memory of our sins and Paul lets us know that means we are not to dwell, for even one moment, on past sins. That is absolutely awesome?!!

Whether your sin happened a year ago or one minute before now, for Christians, that sin has been expunged from all memory. It's been eliminated, exterminated, and annihilated. Why? That's what God's done for us because he loves us, and so that we can focus on helping others come to heaven with us.
SO NOW, GET MOVING FORWARD!! | image tagged in christian, bible, god, prayer, jesus, heaven | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
