The 3 commandments: "Good thoughts, good words, good deeds." | Zoroastrianism isn't Abrahamic, yet those religions grew out of it. It was founded by Zarathushtra (628-551 bce). There is an upper world that is bathed in light & the dark underworld. Earth is the battlefield for good vs. evil. Ahura Mazda ("The Wise Lord") created the Holy Spirit, earth, angels, & prototype life forms - which would eventually evolve into modern animals & humans. There are other Gods, but they are subservient to the Creator. Offended by this prosperity, Anga Mainyu ("Angry Spirit") aka Ahriman created demons, reptiles, other evil things & invaded earth, causing calamities. Every 1000 years Ahura Mazda sends the seed of a prophet into the womb of a virgin; the resulting child becomes the next prophet who reduces the evil in the world - Zarathushtra was one. Eventually there will be a final struggle in which the dead shall rise, the earth will be transformed & purified by a fiery stream of metal, & Ahriman is defeated once and for all. Practitioners of Zoroastrianism worship in fire temples, where the priests perform the sacred act of stoking the eternal flame 5 times a day. If there is no nearby temple, a bonfire can be made in the open. They do not bury or cremate; they leave the bodies of their dead where wild animals can feed on them. Unlike the Abrahamic religions they inspired, Zoroastrians will never try to convert you. This goes back to an early time in history. Their ancestors were looking for a place to live & practice their religion; an Indian prince offered them land if they agreed not to push their beliefs onto others.
