The Pagan view of reincarnation is simple. You randomly become another being & get to try different ways of living. However, Hinduism & Buddhism make reincarnation into a value judgement. You become a more or less advanced being based on your conduct. Unfortunately, this leads to abuses. It's ok to discriminate against someone of a lower caste, a woman or an LGBT person; they were born like that as a punishment after all.
