Head in the sand much? I pay attention and when I see Muslim cleric after Muslim cleric all say the same thing about overthrowing the United States, I think it is a good idea to listen.

We didn't listen when Osama Bin Laden said he was going to take down the World Trade Centers and then he did it. He actually tried once before 9/11 but his bombs only blew up a parking lot.

If you want to be blind to the world just because some might call you an "Islamophobe" then you are part of the problem. CAIR invented that word because they know exactly how to play leftists. They've had lots of experience. They were going to try to play Hitler when he made deals with them but we caused Hitler to push up daisies. You might need to know that Hitler's N.A.Z.I.s are National Socialists. It was not a right wing movement. Nazi is an acronym for the English translation to National Socialist German Workers Party. There's really no difference between a National Socialist and a Democratic Socialist and the Democratic Socialists of America have pretty much taken over the Democrat party.

The Islamic Republic Guard Corp worked with the socialists in taking over Iran, then a few months later the Muslims ended the lives of all of the Socialists.

So they have a pretty good history of playing socialists and then eliminating them once they have finished with them.

"The separation of church and state is NOT in the Constitution"

Yes it is. The first amendment prohibits the government from endorsing religion or prohibiting the free exercise of religion.

"there has never been anything that prevented religion and religious people from operating within the government"

Nobody says religious people cannot serve in the government, but they cannot use the government to push their religion onto people. And if you think they are allowed to do that, then you have nothing to complain about if Muslims do it.

"all of our founding documents derived the ideology straight from the Bible"

No they didn't. Where does the Bible say that everybody has freedom of religion and can worship any God they want or no God at all? Where does the Bible guarantee freedom of speech? The Bible says if you curse God or curse your parents, you have to be put to death. That is not freedom of speech.

"the only thing I care about a politician saying is that they understand what that wall is and they will keep the government out of the churches BUT not the other way around. One exception would be Islam. There are too many Islamacists who want to overthrow our government."

So basically you want the government to protect your religion and even endorse your religion, but you don't think people of other religions should have the same protections. That's as unamerican as it gets.

"I neglected to address things such as Christian services being held in Congress among many other ways Christianity is smuggled into our government."

It was NOT "smuggled". In order for it to be smuggled there would have to be laws prohibiting it. There aren't. There probably are laws today but if anyone challenged them in the Supreme Court they would be ruled unconstitutional.

Holding church services in Congress was NOT establishing a religion. There is no one Christian religion. If Jefferson set up services for the Episcopalian church A) that would not "establish" a state religion and B) too many other Christians would complain that their sect was not represented. Which is why it was non-denominational. Meaning they only preached sermons about concepts that all Christians can agree on.

A state religion is when part of your taxes go to support a specific sect of a religion. If that religion has no sects then that religion should not be supported by taxpayers.

Holding a non-denominational Christian service required no tax dollars to fund that service.

"To me it matters that these leaks of religion into U.S. government have only been Christian to my knowledge."

This country was founded by Christians. Everything about it's founding is based on Judeo/Christian morals and teachings.

George Washington in his farewell address said, "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to
political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports."

John Adams said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

Our government was created for Christians but set up to allow all other religions or no religion. You will not be force to pay taxes that support any church but that is where the establishment clause ends. It does not impose any other burdens on any religion.

"It seems to me it would be much tougher to establish any other religion in U.S. government without a vehement response from Christians"

Like I said, "establish" only means your tax dollars will not go to support another religion.

That being said, I know what you are talking about. Some Christians are upset when they see a prayer given by a member of the Church of Satan or a Satanic statue.

There there is the Muslim problem. They are a religion that wants to overthrow our government and force Sharia law on us. The left's pampering Islam is what bothers Christians.

"That seems to cover the same bases as separation of church and state in both directions. How do you suppose the United States could become an Islamic nation when founding a theocracy is illegal in one of our founding documents?"

That is how you are interpreting the first amendment. The wall is a one way wall. People in the private sector, including churches, can go through that wall but the government cannot.

Here is what the founders meant:

The establishment clause - this simply meant that the Federal Government would not create a church as part of the government. So many people in Europe were living in countries where part of their taxes went to a religion that they were not a member of.

Thomas Jefferson said, "To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."

The quote was about a state religion but I think this applies to just about everything the government thinks we must pay for.

Would it surprise you to know that there were about 4 or 5 states after the Constitution was ratified that had a state religion? I don't remember the states but I think Maryland was one of them and I think Catholicism was their state religion. I could be wrong because my memory sucks the older I get.

The free exercise clause - meant that the government would not make any laws regarding any religious practices. However, there are exceptions. Peyote is another exception. It is used in many American Indian rituals but because it is a controlled substance those tribes had to forgo its use in their ceremonies.

The free exercise clause is Jefferson's wall, and it is very specific that the first words in the 1st amendment apply to all the clauses. "Congress shall make no law..."

I haven't heard anyone recently talking about ending the second amendment with regard to churches. From time to time I've heard people talk about taking away the tax exempt status of Churches. But they would have to change the constitution because "Congress shall make no law...". Our current taxation scam should have never been forced on us. It was done by a narcissistic control freak, President Woodrow Wilson. He also forced the Federal Reserve on us.

I have heard leftists (not politicians) complain that conservatives should not have free speech. I am pretty sure the DSA would tear it down with the rest of the Constitution. The DSA has pretty much taken over the Democrat Party.
